thank you
I thought as much
I want to get the car scanned today
Everything about the car is okay
Just that check engine light is my concern
Collione:

Make sure the check engine light isn't blocked from the instrument cluster. People do this to hide the fact that something wrong with the car. They simply open the instrument cluster and cover the indicator

Good evening all

Please I plan on getting a 2008 Accord . I notice that when the key is turned to position 2 (without staring the Engine). All dashboard lights comes on except the check Engine Light.

I believe it’s meant to show when the ignition is turned and disappear when the engine is started.

Is it a serious flag pls?

The CEL will definitely flash when you're starting your car, it either goes off or remains on once car is started and steaming.

Why? Because of the fuel dilution issue?

Oh no, because it's faster and it's transmission is not CVT

Yeah I understand what you mean especially concerning the gearbox being a cvt.

But the reality is that, so far so good, Honda has actually perfected their cvt technology at that year. Their gearboxes in those 1.5L turbos don’t give issues at all like other manufacturers do/did. Make your findings.

I make bold to say the cvt gearboxes in those models are really solid. I will like the 2.0T but for this tinubu regime na the 1.5T I go jejely manage go house grin

What do you all think about Naija used Honda Civic 2004/05?
Is it still a good and trouble free car that can offer another 2 years service to a new owner?
What are the common problems to expect and general reliability?
Lastly, is it a safe car for a learner?

Thanks

So long as you get a good unit, it's a very reliable car. It uses a timing belt so ensure to inspect it too

Good day peeps

I need quick intervention on my Honda civic 2009 Gearbox issues
I experience heavy jerk when shifting from Park or Neutral into Drive or reverse, it delays a little before jerking heavily.
But runs smoothly when moving.
I have changed the 2 solenoids, change the oil still the same, my mechanic suggest changing the Gearbox but am not convinced my Gearbox is totally bad just like that, I think it's a solvable problem. Kindly help in this regards if you have ever experienced such and solved it.

Start yr car, put it on park and snap a picture of the dashboard after 10mins while it's still on park. I suspect yr tachometer is far above 1 at idle

Just be managing it like this until you can replace the gearbox. This issue is difficult to repair perfectly in naijya. To avoid spending more just replace the gearbox when you have the fund

This major problem here is misfiring. The plugs and coils needed to be replaced. If it doesn't solve the issue. Then the engine is faulty
