Shell has been in talks with Eroton Exploration and Production Company Ltd. since 2019 to sell some of its Nigerian oil fields. The company is reportedly looking to offload some of its assets in the country as part of its strategy to focus on more profitable areas

Thank God for Subsidy removal. No more free money
WHat's wrong with y'all? Big companies are leaving the country and you're trying to cover it up with "no more free money" excuse?
Wow!

Oga, Shell has no business with subsidy removal. Shell is Nigeria's biggest E&P player. The upstream sector has no business with subsidy removal.

People who comment here will blame the govt fir what they know nothing about.

For some years now, she'll sold all of its Assets in the Western Division Warri.

Also sold some of its Assets in the Eastern Division .

The major reasons for this sells is due to the activities of vandals, militants, host communities.

The company has also laid off many of its staff as part of their SOFU ( SECURING OUR FUTURE).

This has nothing to do with the Government policies.

Host communities and pipeline vandalism is the major cause.

She'll is focusing on Gas on Land and High sea (offshore) for drilling.

She can never leave Nigeria. Government cannot be blamed for the sells but host communities, militants and vandals

Jailed Biafran leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu dies at DSS Custody

Jailed separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu, who was lodged in DSS detention facility jail in connection with Biafran separatist movements attacts in the South Eastern part of Nigeria, he died in DSS custody early hours of today, DSS officials are still in shock.

DSS officials also denied claims despite the high court’s orders for his release. “He was immediately shifted to one of the hospital in Abuja. All proper medical treatment was provided to him at every stage,” an official said on condition of anonymity. Details still loading.[i]

shocked shocked :oIs it that 99½% of people on this thread don't have any family member or friend working in an oil company to have known the plans of some of these companies especially SPDC as regards to selling off some of their assets in Nigeria embarassed embarassed

It's not news that Shell is making plans to leave Nigeria and or diversify from main oil production.

Yea that's true.

Also it very evident that business has reduced generally speaking due to the disastrous effects of the policies.

Importation of petroleum into country reduced by a staggering 50% in 2nd quarter

Domestic consumption massively declined

Fools will say they couldn't compete.
They know nothing. There is one fooling himself all over the GSK thread with the notion that indigenous companies will take over.

If we can't identify that there are underlying problems how do we then tackle the problems.

You will get insults instead of a 'thank you' for educating them.

The funny thing is that they know nothing about what's happening in the industry and make wrong comments with so much confidence.

It's a pity. cry
