I expect ECOWAS to make use of the carrot -and-stick approach. If ECOWAS wants to meet the coup leaders for diplomatic talks and they are not responding, ECOWAS/AU just have to use force. Coup d'etat should not be the norm in Africa, especially when the coup is happening right at our doorstep. |

The Wagner group would be in Niger very soon, to favour the military government. Someone close should tell Ebola about it because he's deaf to the opinion of his citizens... |

TheBillyonaire:Anyone who listens to you people make mouth like this will think Nigeria is quite an advanced and highly developed nation. You guys should sort out your economy and solve this shameful decades long insecurity and terrorism within your nation before lying to the world that you are an African super power. Bandits and terrorists are still very comfy in the North and SouthEast... Civil servants are still trekking to work and are underfed, economy is still shamefully import-based, but general priority has now become humbling another nation's military. SMH!!! |

And you couldn't do this to boko Haram? quote author=TheBillyonaire post=124942741]Bad strategy. No fly zone in war time does not stop enemy fly-in, but stops commercial flights. Let's deploy a thousand drones in 5 minutes and exhaust their batteries and then get our jets to drop bombs on their tanks and inventories. We can start with that.[/quote] |

Niger coupists are raising false alarms and taking wrong steps. This reveals their incompetence to manage that country. A conflict is not necessarily a war. It is just the adoption of ideas and proposals in disagreements. Conflicts can be resolved. It is only when conflicts are not resolved that things escalate. Niger is at odds with ECOWAS ideology. Essentially an ideological conflict. This ideological difference is still being negotiated by diplomats on ground. Instead of the coupists to share with their citizens efforts spent making headway in negotiations with stakeholders, they spill out fear of war to cower their citizens and make them further vulnerable for exploit. ECOWAS stated from day one - diplomacy, but if using force to regain democracy is needed they will use the option. E be like say war is still far far ahead sef if other means fail. So why all the theatrical displays? These army leaders are incompetent, more reason they should be removed and democracy restored. |
