This is how some people made mistakes that will make them regret for their entire lifetime. How on earth could one sell a house just to travel to a country you don't know what operates there?

He should use his house as a collateral for a loan that spans the period he will be away. That way he knows when he moves he has to hustle out his loan first, if it works out he can choose what to do with the property from there, if it doesnt work out he comes back home with whatever he has saved to help claim his property and move on with life.

Don't make that mistake, the 5 year visa is not the only requirement to entry Canada. At the point on entering, you will be given only 3 or 6 months to stay in Canada

At 43, he should be planning his retirement. If you need to sell your only major asset at 43 in order to relocate under a skewed circumstance, rest assured you're about to suffer unplanned consequences.

Two days ago ...I had a chat with a friend of mine that left Nigeria for USA. According to her she moved from USA to Canada to seek asylum...The good news is that everything worked in her favour ..However she told me something I won't forget in a hurry ..she said Canada is fucking expensive and that the weather is not friendly ...she plans to move to USA...

Where will you run back to if things don't go as planned?

People should raise funds via other means abeg. Sell your cars furniture etc not the house itself.

As a tourist will he be able to work?
Now is he married,? why not he goes through the study entry pathway? Which is the easiest now.

Even if he doesn't want to study, his wife can gain admission and he goes as a dependant.

As a tourist, nope! he might not be able to access all benefits.

The study pathway allows him work and later on integrate into the Canadian system.

So him or his wife should consider the study secure route and admissions are open against Sept next year now

Sorry I don't mean to go off topic ... but has anyone being able renew his/her Canadian passport here in Lagos?

Though I've been in naija for 4 years now and my blue passport won't expired before mid 2028, when I get on a trend like this it kinda make me feel like I've overstated my visits to Nigeria.

He should sell the house after the visa is out. He shouldn't try it when d visa isn't yet out. If he gets to Canada, with time he will be a owner of house in VGC or Osapa London, not even in ilorin again.
