I am not saying the op is a scam or not but here is my take. His write up seems to be the typical style scammers use.

New moniker: most scammers create new account.

Threaten suicide. He also did this.

Always no father, mother, or anyone.

Exaggerate a situation: he claimed to be roaming about, sleep on in dangerous places. Probably on the street?

Suggest an unreliable way to prove their claims. Picture of burnt building or the individual in the burnt building doesn't prove anything.

I have a building close to me that got burn some weeks ago. I can say that my everything is gone and I have no one, no place to stay or money to rent another house then solicit for money, when requested to snap pictures I can also do it. Does it proves anything?

@ Garrieveryday People go to various length just to scam people. Some even use sick people pictures... etc.

In fact the same thing happening in this thread also took place on the thread I posted.

I believe there are people that would wish to help you but everyone is weary of giving his hand earned money to scam. It is your duty to prove your claim beyond reasonable doubt.

@NiceUpper I suggest op should drop the state, town and exact location of the house. There should be nairalanders there who can do an in person verification of your claims.

NB: the nairalander has to be an old member. He or she should must act smart, ask people around e.g the shop owner beside the building if you were a tenant and so on.

Additionally, why is the email address of the church sign post you posted not visible Hmm. Since you claim they rented out the place. People can reach out and ask if you are a tenant or not

Whenever I claim only broke Yahoo boys use Nairaland, those same boys will come at me with “billionaires have Nairaland accounts.” See the case I come across every other month. SMH.

the photo of the OP in front of the building can be easily used by people (who wanna help) to ask in the neighborhood if that person is REALLY the person that lived there and/or rented an apt there; to ask the house owner etc

You should have come with good evidence to back of your claims.

Also the op should take a picture close the house like another person suggested. There are so many scammers these days. So it's very difficult to know who's telling the truth.

Anyways...I want to drop this piece here for young people cos this is one of the reasons I do tell young people to be active in church.

I've witnessed this incident in my church twice and those two times, the pastor made an open announcement to the church and members rented another accommodation for the people.

The second person was a family man, someone even bought him a set of new cushion chairs, another gave him flat screen TV. In fact the speed at which they put him back on his feet, made him shed tears when he came to thank the church.

If you know you're broke and things are hard, try and belong somewhere, so that when things like this happens, you'll have people who would come to your aid. Our leaders don't care.

Please I don't really blame some of you who conclude things this way, because you have your genuine reasons. Having been displaced, do you know if I am still within the area or how long it will take me to get to that place from where I may be now, plus what I may be doing/busy, plus cost of transportation, plus how long it will take me to trek to the place if i dont have transport? The property belongs to Apostolic Church who rent it out to people. So you can make any contact with them to find out if their property at the stated address caught fire on the 11th of July and if someone by name Umoh was one of the tenants affected.
