Eyah...but don't expect Nigeria to favour everybody. Some of us have a very different opinion from yours.

The pictures says it all. "As it was in the beginning, is now and so shall it remains" until there is a sovereign national dialogue on our state of nationhood.

Do we all want to exist as a federation or independent entities in a federation. Lord Frederick Lugard is forever cursed for amalgamating this contraption of an entity.

The usual excuse by people who are not profiting from the opportunities the almagamation have been providing since 1912 to those who are smart. Too many benefits, Nigeria is a great blessing but only those with positive mindset understand this based on their fulfilling experience as a Nigerian that have traveled wide and far.

Re: Picture Of The House Where Fredrick Lugard Signed Amalgamation In 1914 by festacman(m):
That Amalgamation ought not to have been signed. It was a big mistake. There was no basis for any amalgamation. It brought neighbours who were living apart happily and interfacing together peacefully and fruitfully to live together as a family in sadness with destiny and potential of each of the neighbours kept in state of inertia.

“Since 1914 the British Government has been trying to make Nigeria into one country, but the Nigerian people themselves are historically different in their backgrounds, in their religious beliefs and customs and do not show themselves any signs of willingness to unite … Nigerian unity is only a British invention” –Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, 1948.

“Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression. There are no ‘Nigerians’ in the same sense as there are ‘English,’ ‘Welsh,’ or ‘French,’ The word ‘Nigeria’ is a mere distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria and those who do not” -Chief Obafemi Awolowo, 1947

“It is better for us and many admirers abroad that we should disintegrate in peace and not in pieces. Should the politicians fail to heed the warning, then I will venture the prediction that the experience of the Democratic Republic of Congo will be a child’s play if it ever comes to our turn to play such a tragic role” -Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, 1964.

Yeah the defective structural foundation of a country that have never made any meaningful progress in its 64 years of forced and failed nationhood.

"........The British cobbled together Northern and Southern Nigeria in 1914. They did it to save administrative costs at the eve of World War I.Only six individuals actually signed the Amalgamation document. They are:

-Siyanbola Oladigbolu(Alaafin of Oyo),
-R.Henshaw(Obong of Calabar),
-Muhammadu Maiturare,(Sultan of Sokoto),
-Abubakar Garbai el-Kanemi(Shehu of Borno),
-Usuman bin Abdullahi(Emir of Kano),
-Sir Kitoyi Ajasa(lawyer and member of the Legislative Council of the Crown Colony of Lagos. The latter, Sir Kitoyi, was largely an agent of the British.....).

It is only a matter of time before the strange amalgam of a unitary federation becomes fully blown........"

That information and picture is patently false.

Symptomatic of how many things in the nation's history remain false, twisted and deliberately manipulated to serve narrow interests.

This is why the so called amalgamation has failed to yield tangible success one hundred and nine years after.

After more than a century, the country cannot refine it's own energy resources and imports tooth pick fish, pampers etc. Because we live in outright false hood and denial.

The amalgamation deed was signed at present day Ikot Abasi, somewhere in Akwa Ibom State.

You may want to find the pictures of the place,if necessary.

Below is the picture of where the error was enacted.

A sad testimony of how bad we Nigerians have been doing in the geographical area left behind for us in 1960, unlike the Arabs and Asians.
