actually there is enough for everyone's need, but not for everyone's greed, politics is not bad, it's the people that are bad

I will probably enrich myself but I will find more creative ways to do so than crude embezzlement of funds.

I honestly don’t think anyone of us would be able to resist self enrichment in a powerful position where we have access to millions or billions of dollars.

Even our children will disown us if we don’t end up wealthier after holding such office.

I admit that this sounds corrupt, but I don’t see how this mentality can be changed without a comprehensive cultural re-orientation, initiated by an honest, well-meaning military dictator like Gen Murtala Muhammed of blessed memory, who will rule for at least 10 years, and lead by example.

I very much doubt politicians could do this.

Over 50 views and only 1 person has answered 'NO'.

We are watching.

MODS, Can you FP this thread please.

I'M CHECKING SOMETHING.
Before answering this question, we have to define corruption. Some persons think corruption is just the direct pilfering of government purse. No! It's more than that. Using state instruments to favour you, your family or friends without due process is corruption. For example, telling a perm sec to employ a family member ( even if he/she is 100% qualify) without the due process of first advertising the position and allowing for a free and fair interview, no interference etc is corruption. Now in the Nigerian we are today, who can do to that without incurring the wrath of family, friends or village people? You are in a position to give your nephew a good job and you say you can't because you want to follow due process. No worry! Shebi you go go back to that willage. Therefore, no Nigerian can say no to this question.

If those are the criteria then every nation on Earth is corrupt.

Even in the US, UK etc, nepotism is the order of the day, and your getting a good position in govt and industry often depends on your ‘network’ , ie who you know.
