Igboslayer: ^^^ No. Blind faith in government - the kind of faith you have shown up here - never ends well. Only healthy skepticism by voters eventually leads to real development. There's already a ministry of water resources. There's already a ministry of tourism. There's already a ministry of agriculture. What is the blue economy ministry going to do that isn't already in the 'charter' of these 3 ministries? 1 Like 1 Share |

Tareq1105: ^^^ Good. You have made an assertion about revenue - and revenue can be measured. At the end of this administration, you should be able to tell us how much revenue was generated - compared to prior administrations (and by how much this administration has outperformed prior ones, revenue wise). No ifs, no buts. If your principal cannot deliver on this, then... Tareq1105: ^^^ Good. I edited out the insults and all that from your initial post so that we could focus on policy - because that's what really matters. This strategic division of ministries is designed to achieve what goals exactly? And how will success in achieving the goals (which you must specify in your response) be measured? Tareq1105: ^^^ See earlier post about specific deliverables. What are the deliverables?...So that in 4 years (or 4 months or 8 years or whenever) we don't start hearing stories? What are the deliverables?! Tareq1105: ^^^ Leave God out of this. Nobody is 'thinking evil' (whatever that means). If hard questions need to be asked, they will be asked. If concerns need to be expressed, they will be expressed. Your principal is being held accountable - and that's exactly how it should be. |

leisuretym: Omo you beat me to this. If only Nigerians knows the wealth that's in that deep blue. I'm sure foreign fishing trawlers will be on our waters doing heavy stealing. Meanwhile all we do is cry that fish is expensive because of dollars. 1 Like 1 Share |

Our educational institutions are useless, professors using their university of Ibadan 1988 handouts 📝 , I’ve learnt more on YouTube than I learnt in university, Nigeria university should be scrapped 3 Likes 1 Share |

gregng: The ocean is called DEEP BLUE. The resources from the ocean is the economy. So the business that's related to the Deep blue, is what is called the blue economy. Google Norway and stock fish, a lot of expensive oils used in pharmaceuticals. Expensive sea foods like giant lobsters, clams, caviers, oysters and so on. Money dey inside that place, it's so unfortunate that Nigerians are stucked in canoe and paddle fishing. Go to Ijora in Lagos and see fishing business. Most of those fish consignments are probably stolen from Nigerian high sea. 1 Like 1 Share |

leisuretym: I believed our problem as a people is our mind set We don't want things to change, people feel threatened by new ideas. What the people need is exposure, and creativity. if the government is useless, are the people supposed to be daft too?. You've been updating and upgrading yourself on the YouTube, Nigerians use YouTube to entertain themselves. Unfortunately knowledge is power, a guy somewhere in Ekiti used stones to generate electricity, who else have tried to look into it?. That stone is called vibranium, it was first discovered in congo, just imagine other people in that Ekiti axis decided to look into what this young man did, and more of such stones are discovered, who knows the kinds of fortune that could be created from the stone. Nobody wants to spend time on research and development, a lot of people see it as NONSENSE. This is why we are in this sorry state, this is not peculiar to Nigeria, this is the scourge of the whole of Africa. 2 Likes |

leisuretym:There were many Nigerian and foreign investors in the lucrative business with fishing vessels and trawlers for local and export processing but from the 1990s many lost their investments and had to quit the Nigerian high seas for other areas because of sea pirates and kidnappings for ransom! Security is key. |

7lives: Brilliant! Brilliant!! Your submission is brilliant! Infact Ekiti youth would have been able to create employment for themselves if they do as you suggested , we’ll said the people mustn’t be daft too, truly it’s the mindset, I agreed And on the aspect of the research, our university ought to invite that guy and go on research and exploration but they rather do nothing, so it’s the mindset like you rightly said 1 Like |

7lives:Vibranium! Thanks for that info. I also watched early this year, 2 YouTube videos of the boy [Tolani "danger"]who is based in an Ekiti West town. He powered his house from 2 wet stones buried in the ground. It was truly awesome to see. Sadly the boy stopped schooling in SS2 according to him in order to concentrate on his electricity generation. 1 Like 1 Share |

Fujiyama:TRAAAAAAAASSSSSHHHHH Blind fate in a government that's barely 3 months in the saddle, what manner of people are you that chooses skepticism above dogmatism for their leaders to perform especially for someone that have started well. Because he's not your unfortunate Obi that couldn't win a general election the government must fail no matter how good the plan is. You will eventually see the country prosper again, I hope hate and anger will not deny you and your people the benefits it holds. You have practically stated your problem here which is IGNORANCE 😜😜😜 A small google will clear your doubt about blue economy, maritime potential and why it must stand alone. All over the world this ministry has a clear mandate different from Ministry of agriculture, Water and Tourism. This is a serious ministry harnessing deep water resources in partnership with maritime authorities, shipping and fishing companies in deep waters. Stop elaborating your ignorance because of hate.😜😜😜👌👌👌👌👌 |

Igboslayer: ^^^ I see your principal isn't the only one who loves word salads. Re-read what you posted and deceive yourself once more that it makes any sense. Igboslayer: ^^^ I edited the nonsense about Obi and all of that. Now, lets get down to business. South Africa has a Ministry of Environment, Forestry & Fisheries. There is no cabinet level blue ocean ministry. Egypt has a Ministry of Water Resources & Irrigation. It has no cabinet level blue ocean ministry. Japan has a Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries. It also has a Ministry of the Environment. It does not have a cabinet level blue ocean ministry. The UK has a Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. It also has a Department for Business & Trade. There is no cabinet level blue ocean department. The United States has a Department of Agriculture. It also has the EPA, Office of Water and the FSA. There is no cabinet level blue ocean department. And so on. The issue is a simple one: you have not been able to educate us on why we need a cabinet level blue ocean ministry. You haven't delivered on this simple task. Instead, you've given us lectures on how the blue ocean ministry is a 'serious' ministry - which of course means you admit your government has 'unserious' ministries. You need more training. Propaganda is a 'serious' business. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Blue Economy: 5 Things To Know About Tinubu’s New Ministry by Fujiyama: 12:04am On Aug 21, 2023 |
Igboslayer: ^^^ Nonsense. My argument is a simple one: justify the cabinet level status of your country's marine & blue economy ministry. You simply haven't made a strong case for it - it'll probably end up like all the other underperforming bureaucracies we've been plagued with for over half a century. Anything you have to say outside this central point is irrelevant and a waste of time. Igboslayer: ^^^ So? And your point is? Igboslayer: ^^^ When I asked you to demand a pay cut from your masters you took it as an insult. If you had any integrity you would do it without further delay. Without even realizing it, you've settled this argument - in my favour of course. In the list of countries I gave to you earlier, not one has a cabinet level blue ocean ministry. Not a single one. Nigeria simply does not need another bureaucracy to create 'jobs' for party apparatchiks - because that's exactly what this blue ocean ministry will become in no time . That's the point I'm making - no more, no less. If you cannot understand this, I cannot help you any further. Igboslayer: ^^^ Ok. Seen. 1 Like 1 Share |

leisuretym: Forget about the universities, a certain Mark Zuckerberg was a student when he created Facebook, what was his school's contribution?. Okay what about John Oseni, he was even an SS3 student. That Ekiti guy was a junior secondary school dropout. I said it and stood by it. that we don't have engineers in this country, all they do is brandish certificates. Way back ordinary blacksmiths and carpenters are building " bole kaja " with Bedford vehicles in Ibadan. At the moment our engineers can't even combine planks and Okada engines, to build Keke maruwa. Keke is now #1.8m, so what exactly are our people learning in the universities and polytechnics? 1 Like |
