They should stop troubling Nigerians with nonsense unproductive activities. What exactly is the benefit of this update? Update where they can pilfer one one naira per user once you recharge? Some folks are barely feeding they want to use back door to introduce another draconian law. Nigerians should resist this nonsense.

Could not recharge my meter first week of this month. I had to contact them and I got my KCT 1 and 2 and my meter was upgraded easily.

I'm really suspicious of NERC

When you say key change, are you talking of the private key used for encryption? If yes, do you know the current key size? encryption algo on use?

I no dey update shishi..if this one knock I go get another one..you can stylishly inflate price in the name of update..machine dey work u wan update..which new functionality is the update bringing.

Deep down in their heart they think they’re wise, they’ve just explained what will happen after the update of your meters in a reversed psychology, if there’s nothing fishy I see no reasons why they are introducing this

I smell secret increase of electricity tariffs, same way APC government came with student loan to remove subsidies from government own universities and schools, Nigerians should think very smart while dealing with this current government they have a lots of plans to create more hardship for those living in the country but sadly many don’t seems to understand their pattern yet instead they use religion and tribal politics to blind their eyes 😂😂😂

I smell lies, my brother has a friend whose prepaid meter is the 1st type they brought in, the guy's meter refused to change to the current billing system even after they increased the pricing like 3 or 4 times, the guy still pays the very 1st prepaid meter pricing, so this update looks like they want to make all the prepaid meters connect to the new pricing but they don't want customers to know....

I don't know about those details.
But I have used key change previously. I was on EEDC before. After they settled the dispute they had with geometric in Aba, Aba power under geometric took over some LGA and we had to do key change before we could load units under Aba power.

Prepaid metre doesn't read by naira. It reads by kwh.

Any price change, whether increase or decrease is not done through the prepaid. Price only reflect at the point of purchase, online banking apps, etc.

Oga did I mention Naira, it is not deducting his units as others are deducting per kwh

What is the update about? They only told us what the meters would not do after updating, they didn't tell us what the meters would do.
No need to update if there are no issues to fix.
