The Lagos State House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed 22 out of the 39 commissioner-nominees sent by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for screening.

The confirmation was done through a voice vote as the Speaker mentioned the name of each of the nominees.

Those confirmed are:

Some Islamic clerics had last week protested alleged lopsidedness in the list of commissioner-nominees submitted to the Assembly by the governor. They had claimed that eight Muslims made the governor’s 39-man list while the rest were Christians.

This is true democracy taking place. Show me anywhere in SE where this can happen, SE where 97% voted for only their kinsmen. Funnily, more than half of those that voted have directly or indirectly benefitted from the governance acumen of the other candidate.

When it comes to pure democracy and academic politics, give it to South-west. Kudos Lagos state House of Assembly!

Meanwhile, we need the religious profiling of those confirmed and those not confirmed, we need to check something.
