Lols, there are still many codes unknown to us in modern times that Ifa and other great minds of the past knew. With time, some geniuses will discover and develop them in the modern era as well, as things in life occur in cycles.

All jokes aside, i wish i was in the movie industry, I’d have made a kick-ass action flick out of all these stories.

The world watched countless tales from Greek and Norse mythology and it won’t be bad if they see new tales from African mythology

Thats what Black Panther is for, and that literally had to have the backing of the MCU machine and charismatic leads in Chadwick and Michael B Jordan and piggy backing off the BLM movement and Anti-Trump Sentiment.

Otherwise there was very little interest in a Black Panther movie. OG comic nerds like myself have known of Black Panther since childhood when he was married to Storm from Xmen.

When I was growing up, the Marvel wonder metal was Adamantium which was what Wolverines skeleton was coated in, not Vibranium which really only gained prominence with Black Panther.

The big hitters then were Spiderman, Xmen, Cable/Havok/X-force, The Hulk, and maybe GhostRider.

Tony Stark, and the rest of the avengers were B-league guys that would typically show up featuring in a Spiderman story. Iron-man used to have the deadest cartoon on the Cadbury breakfast TV roster those days, with Spiderman being number 1.

Robert Downey Junior literally changed the game for Marvel despite playing one of their deadest characters, facilitating an environment that would allow a super black IP like Black Panther to be successful.

Prior to that, nobody would be going for such Black film series, and I would be very surprised of we get another Black hero movie that is as successful anytime soon.

As an atheist who rejects the notion of a "God" and despises religion for it's role in the segregation and decimation of humankind, I'm always fascinated with the concept of morality across different societies in our modern civilization. Of what is right and what is wrong. How societies different from each other and how to look at and judge another society whose set of rules and morality are perceived to be of "inferior standards".

For example, in predominantly Muslim countries, you see a complete subjugation of women, for them it is embedded into the code of their morality that women are definitely inferior to men, so their set of laws center around the complete restrictions of women rights. Women can't vote, can't drive, can't obtain education, her dress as she wishes, has no choice in her choice of a marriage partner etc and the funny aspect is that there are a substantial amount of women amongst them who completely embrace this notion of their only role in society being to serve their men around them.

Away from the Moslem societies, you still have an endurance of archaic traditional inhumane practices that persists till today and has fought off modernization.

You have cultures in Africa where albinos and twins are still killed.
You have cultures in east Asia where widows are killed by burning together with the corpse of her husband. So if her husband dies, his wife has to die too. This practice is advocated by a subsection of the Hinduism religion. The British tried to end this practice but faced stiff opposition.
You can read about this here.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sati_(practice)

You also have this Colombian culture where young boys are made to have sex with animals before they can sleep with their first females.
You can read about it here too.
https://www.termpaperwarehouse.com/essay-on/Bestiality-And-Zoophilia-Of-Cartagena-Colombia/FJCY384WVNT

You also have a subsect of the Yoruba culture where a first son can inherit his father's titles, properties and wives including his own mother who becomes his wife.

When you see all these and realize that for these groups, tribes and people, they believe soo strongly that they are justified in what they do because it's all their people have ever known, it inspires a curiosity as I said earlier,m to the concept of morality. Is there such a thing as good and bad? If there is, who are the arbiters of what is supposed to be good and what is supposed to be bad? many questions as to the makeup of modern human civilization.

From the front page.

Penguin2:
Yesterday I saw a publication by Tinubu’s propaganda blog, Podium Reporters, asking why Peter Obi has kept quiet while “Obidients” attack Kumuyi for “praying for Nigeria”.

But that’s a mischievous suggestion. Because Kumuyi’s condemnation was from all Nigerians.

Till now, I’ve not seen a single tweet in support of Kumuyi.

Besides, I thought they said majority of Nigerians voted Tinubu? Why didn’t that majority defend Kumuyi? Why is the voice of the ‘minority’ always louder than the supposed majority?

To Kumuyi….

Who has he been hearing from? Because it’s obvious it hasn’t been God all these years.

Or why does he keep issuing prophesies that never come to pass and people expect that we fold our arms and watch these guys lie to us all the time without consequences or their bluff being called?

These guys keep taking advantage of the gullibility of the majority of Africans who have faith without reason.

I remember when Adeboye once said he drove from Lagos to Ore on an empty tank, and people believed him. They didn’t ask questions about the possibility of such. They insisted it was a miracle that must never be probed nor questioned.

Wake up, Africa!

Wake up and see that these men are conmen who are feeding fat on your gullibility “In The Name of God.”

And they know that the day Nigeria gets her leadership right, and things start working, that’s the day they will go out of business.

Because 90% of things that people go to church to pray for, are things with temporal (physical) solution that requires no recourse to the metaphysical (prayers).

Name it:

Food

Job

Shelter

Visa

Capital for business

Success in exam

Cure for disease, etc.

These are things that a functional government will see to its adequate availability and thereby reducing the dependence of people on these churches and Daddy GOs.

It happened in Europe.

There was a time when the economy of Europe was in shambles and people depended highly on God, through prayers, for their daily survival. That period saw to the emergence of big churches and cathedrals where people went to pray.

But when European countries started getting their leadership right and their economy blossomed and government started doing its job of providing basic amenities and jobs that help people have a means of livelihood, the people realized that they’ve been seeking spiritual solution to physical problems.

The population in the churches started to dwindle until some churches became empty. And some of those churches started getting converted into warehouses for storage of goods manufactured in industries.

Now, these Nigerian, nay African, pastors know this story. And they know that if African countries start to get its leadership right, what happened in Europe will inevitably happen in Africa; and Nigeria is not excluded.

That’s why they keep supporting the wrong leaders and telling lies in the name of prophecy - prophesies that never come to pass.

Now, when we call the hypocrisies of these charlatans out, some people who are irredeemably gullible, hopelessly superstitious and still operating with animistic mentality, where every occurrence is attributed to the gods, will be telling us to “touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.” That’s the escape line of these charlatans.

Wake up Africa and take thine salvation into thine hands!

The question of good and bad is aged long.

No one can define good on his own because it is subjective. Even a moral atheist cannot answer this question.

So what do we do?

If there is no God (Supreme Being) then there is no justice on earth so then the question of good and bad cannot be answered. It is justice that can validates what is good against what is bad. It is justice that admonishes good and punishes bad.

Dude is a charisma machine. Robert Downey did well to boost Iron Man's appeal like you said his counterpart in the comics was as dry as AY's jokes.

Like you Spiderman and the Hulk were the characters I knew from marvel plus the fantastic 4 to some extent due to the Thing cartoon they showed back in the day.

Well, for me personally, this knowledge has largely been via nigerian media and anecdotal word of mouth.

There are various Nollywood movies that has presented this as fact, I vividly recall a certain "superstory" programme whose entire plot was centered around this particular tradition.

Also I've had a Yoruba associate of old confirming that this practice do happen in certain places in Ondo and osun.

But furthermore a little research seems to corroborate aspects of this as seen below.

What he is referring to is Opo sisu

And its mainly to protect the women as in those days women are not economically empowered and depend on their man to provide for them
Even those who sell in the market, its what their husband farms that they sell, so when there is no husband to farm, kids are still young, they have a way to provide for her and her kids
So if the man dies, she can choose to marry either the younger brother of the deceased or any relative.

I don't know/never heard about wives marrying sons and sons marrying mother since sons naturally take care of their mothers.

Okay good.

Do u know why I asked u what it is called and the source of ur information? It is becasue I saw a misrepresentation in ur post and I wanted to know if it was ur source that was wrong or u were the one that innocently or knowingly misrepresented the fact.

You also have a subsect of the Yoruba culture where a first son can inherit his father's titles, properties and wives including his own mother who becomes his wife.

It is a taboo in Yoruba culture for a son to have a sexual relationship with his mother. So when I saw ur post above talking about a son inheriting his father's properties , wives and his own mother; I knew that is one strong misrepresentation of facts.

Please modify ur post, there's nothing babaric in a family member marrying a widow. Almost all major tribes in Nigeria had such history in their culture.

@ the bolded last sentence, therein lies the crux and contradiction of the issue.
The christian God seems very different from the Hindu gods or the ifa gods or the Baha'i gods and so on.

Look at this picture below, you can see the other biggest religions in the world. With each of them having different moral codes, some of which are in direct confliction with each other.
Pork is prohibited in Islamic religion but accepted in Hinduism and Buddhism. Cattle beef is accepted in Islamic religion but strictly forbidden in Hinduism.

I just gave you an example of a ridiculous aspect of Hinduism one where their gods direct the widows of a deceased husband to also burn herself together with her husband's corpse. Where is the God there?

As a matter of fact, I think the idea of a "God" with a set of rules for humanity is what is directly responsible for the inhumane standard of morality prevalent in many societies.
I actually think "God" (the man-made theological invention as a means of rationalising the unknown) is responsible for humans being "bad".

What happens if Tinubu is a witch
What happens if Tinubu was just Ahmed Conde from Guinea
What happens if Tinubu is actually bisexual

So those who posted his graduating picture at CSU, who knew and worked with him at Exxon, who knew and worked with him at Senate, Abibatu Mogaji who never denied he was her son all his life are all insane and the twitter trolls are the right ones
