Tested and Verified my brother.

You get sense no be small

Nigeria should be a pro western country abeg. E get why

God bless you sir.

Don't mind all these people.
When they have problem now, it's America they will rush to.

They are using their Internet, Whatsapp, Iphone Android. They watch their movies, use their Internet, listen to their songs. They have never planned to buy a house in China or Russia or do vacation there. It's America and it's European friends they constantly visit or plan to visit.
If I offer them $100 or $100 roubles or Yen now, it's dollars they will take. grin

Nigeria is an incredibly complicated country! The most on earth! You would think northerners will jump on every opportunity to prevent a war in Niger. Now they are making it easy to be manipulated into a war. India is a part of brics, and Biden has declared India has the most important country to be in friendship with, they dare not be an enemy of India.

There’s little or nothing the Admin could do to sanitize it.
The ethnicity bitterness is just way too much.
Many people follow blindly.
Many oppose blindly.
People can hardly have civil conversation without ethnic slurs cut across political affiliations.
It’s normal for people to hate the government, when people don’t like standard of living, and even people in places we referred to as green land does the same on a daily…. People always want more or miracle .
Issues like Brics should actually prompt a more better conversation on here…
But literacy doesn’t equal to civilization and you’re as dirty as those you think of if you can’t have a conversation without abuse.
Irrespective of how much the Igbo and Yoruba people hate themselves, one thing is clear… we’re stucked together and it’s a forever thing…
The only people that’s profiting from this ethnic divisions are the politicians, I won’t be surprised if they pay some people on here to start such dirty stuff.

Your attempt to sue for peace is commendable. However, I think the approach is is the problem, reason there doesn't seem to be an end to this disturbing trend. I think you, like many before you, such as the owner of this forum want to make it look like a 'two fighting affair' when in fact it is the case of one part of the country trying to bully the others into silence and submission, and the other part of the country responding accordingly to the bullying.
If you think this is some kind of two fighting thing, have you asked yourself if you have seen as many Northerners publicly hating or abusing the political, religious or social leaders of the West, East, or South South regions of Nigeria? Likewise, have you seen as many organized agenda from Westerners or people of the Niger Delta against leaders and public figures of Northern or Eastern extraction?
The truth is, unless one part of the country stops the unwarranted attacks on the leaders or public figures of other Nigerians--Buhari, Tinubu, Akpabio, El Rufai, Wike; pastors Adeboye, Kumuyi, Adefarasin; mama Joke Silva & her husband, Asake, Toyin, Eniola, etc.--there won't be an end to this nonsense, because the categories of persons I mentioned up there have millions of mentees, political supporters, fans that are ready to protect their bosses, idols, religious and political leaders from misguided hate and bitterness.

As at 2022, south Africa's global trade volume with the brics nations alone, amounted to over 21% of its total global trade and has consistently grown over time especially with India and China. The brics have their own bank which is a rival to the imf and south Africa has been able to access a significant amount of developmental funds from this bank. While they might not be as strong as the imf at the moment, with the dedollarization that is going on gradually globally, and the push for countries to belong to a multipolar world, there are huge prospects for them. For countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE to want to join, it must have something valuable in return for them.
and you think those trades wouldn't have taken place without BRIcs as an entity?

How is having imf like bank helping anyone if not for more loans that benefits the bigger economies, e.g china?

Again, how has brics helped south Africa?

Since they joined bric their economy still remain the same if not worse.
Name one CLEAR thing you can actually say that south Africa actually benefited from the so called bric that will make us want to rush in headliessly.

Nigeria as the biggest economy has more to benefit by staying neutral to all the groups and form ally with them than picking a side.

Nigeria saying we are observing and studying BRICS before joining is a diplomatic way of saying no, we don't want to join.

There's nothing in BRICS for Nigeria economically, China won't buy our gas because they've locked a long-term gas contract with China and Russia won't buy our Gas because they have Gas and the rest of the BRICS cannot pay the kind of money we need from gas.

We already have a gas pipeline on tap to Europe so why cut our own legs just to join some BRICS?

Russia has nothing to offer Nigeria and as we speak, most of our exports including non-oil exports go to the WEST.

We won't join and I'm glad that our leaders are making the right move.

One thing I've learned over the years is, Nigerian leaders are the best in sub-Saharan Africa when it comes to international politics. You hardly see them join any alliance or take side, I like that.

I am not in south Africa and can't say much about their economy but I don't think they'd still be there if it's not helping them. I'm for Nigeria being a major player in the multipolar world that is developing rather than being at the mercy of the western economy where sanctions could be used in controlling developing countries to do their bidding.
Re: Nigeria Did Not Apply To Join BRICS, Says Shettima by Patriotcreed: 11:06am On Aug 26, 2023
Nigeria must stay neutral, this gives us an advantage to enter into favorable trade agreement with all. Favorable is the keyword. The trade and investment contracts and agreement signed with the West, must be of mutual interest. We must stop allowing the West, America and Europe carry our natural resources and pay us peanut. We should be critical about OPEC, WHO, it's policies seem to favor the West. Africa must demand equal rights and interest in UN, WHO, and pull out of IMF.

exactly, it's a multipolar world and it's better to stay neutral and use your strength to your advantage.

Joining BRICS amounts to taking side with the east against the west.

Let east and west continue their fight and we will be on the sideline to enjoy the spoils.

We can eventually join the winning side with our strength.

BRICS currently donot have anything to offer us that will make us join their ship like mumu.

I hope you’re aware that most people on nairaland have no political office or any structure to bully anyone… most are just political and ethical bigot, you see people abusing anyone that does not have the same view as themselves.
Someone abuse the president and you feel the need to defend the president by abusing his family and tribe, truth is a president is a public servant and should be ready to take whatever comes his way.
You ever wonder why the politicians are friends across the country, but poor nairalanders believe their own politicians is bigger and better than others.
Perspective is everything.
People that can bully a particular region are not nairaland, and if some of them come to read once in a while, they’re not active members.

You don't have any point beyond your lies and fabrications, Nigeria did not apply for anything, and if you are going to argue, show us credible and official documentation or even credible news reports to show that Nigeria applied.

In fact, the national assembly must debate and approve such moves before we join any international organization and I don't remember the National assembly approving that rubbish.

The fact that you hate Nigeria doesn't mean you have to turn yourself into a liar and a dishonest person.
