Nigerian Shares His Experience At National Orthopaedic Hospital, Kano by Estello(op): 8:14am On Aug 30, 2023
Nigeria happened to me today.

I mostly use private healthcare facilities when the need arises even though my first child was delivered at public facility (safe and sound).

As a result of a knee injury I sustained recently, I decided to use the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Kano.

I went to the hospital early and processed necessary payments. In under 4 hours, I was able to do some tests, an X-ray scan, and saw a doctor who has more than 2 decades of experience. My conversation with the doctor confirmed my earlier assumption of his experience and wealth of knowledge (in both medicine and religion).

I paid a meager N650 for consultation and also a subsidized fee for the X-ray scan and test.

Nigeria happened to me. If you were expecting a sad story, that's on you.

The system works guys!

cheesy

Yes, but speaking as a Nigerian, our healthcare sector has a long long way to go.

Hehehe.

You are lucky.

What people go through to get treatment in government hospitals is really not funny.

The health workers are really overwhelmed and overworked too. A single doctor attending to somany patients within few hours.

People even go as far as sorting some workers before they see doctors.

Most patients even go home without seeing doctors, and the date of appointment is almost a week or two weeks,so what then happens to such patients?.

Health sector need to be given serious attention in Nigeria. We lack a lot of modern medical equipment in Nigeria.

Can you imagine that almost all the hospital in Nigeria don't have a robotic physiotherapy mechine.

It's only when you have health challenge that you will know how bad the situation is in Nigeria.

Your experience means nothing compared to millions of worst experiences of other Nigerians & doesn't negate the fact that Nigeria's healthcare is in comatose. You have gotten your 5 minutes of fame, you can now clap for yourself

You are just lucky to access the hospital at that time, Nigeria is really facing hell in the hand of vultures masquerading as leaders but one day will be one day when the unthinkable will happen.

Slow and steady Nigeria will get to the nation of our dreams.
A land flowing with milk and honey.

Shame on all enemies of Nigeria that open the thread to read negative news they always seek online like bingo dogs.
Shame on all children of perdition and frustrations that call our darling nation a zoo.

God bless the OP a million times.

You're lucky it's not the national orthopedic hospital (igbobi) in Lagos. I had a terrible experience there late last year when I had a car accident, it was so bad i had to transfer to Ikeja medical center. Una d enjoy government benefits for north sha

Sure but it is still better than Europe where you mostly have to book appointments for sometimes months in advance except in the area of emergency management

Please bro, make a visit to Makurdi the Benue state capital and see your story change, no be every state for Nigeria get rice and stew, from private hospital, you will be referred to FMC makurdi, from FMC to teaching hospital where the toilet alone will give you more sickness. We still have a long way to go in our health sector.
