In 2014 Anamabra state was owing 2 billion, Lagos was owing 222billion today Lagos is heading to trillion grin grin
Can u compare infrastrures in Lagos to the ones in Anambra? Continue chest beating that ur state's debt profile is low while others borrow to finance key infrastrures in their various states. It is better to be heavily indebted with key infrastructure than having low debt profile with no key infrastrures

Stop deceiving yourself oga, infrastructure in Lagos, just like in most parts of Nigeria is shambolic. And yes, I can compare infrastructure in Lagos to that in Anambra, and Anambra will win. The only saving grace in Lagos is the seaport which the whole Nigeria benefits from, nothing else. Apart from the seaports, Osun state will be richer than Lagos in everything.

I still thank the military administration of 1960 till 1995 for what they did for our federal capital, Lagos. If not, nothing will be there.

And your state is owing how much
Oga, I don't argue nonsense, Obi did not borrow much cos he didn't do much, it is as simple as that and I don't know why it is difficult for u to understand. Everyone knows that Anamabra's annual IGR plus federal allocation in a year is less than 100 billion... Now supposing Anambra wants to do infrastructure that would gulp 300 billion say with project delivery time of 12 months, where would they source the balance from if not through borrowing? Each time I see this sort of bragging by Anambra people, I just shake my head.

Lagos was former colony and federal capital, Nigeria commercial hub, bank headquarters and many more, let compare infastructure in Other Yoruba states with huge debts with that of Anamabra.

Of course Akwa Ibom is better than Lagos. Lower debt profile and better infrastructure.

Are you nor ashamed to be comparing Anambra to almighty Lagos that has been federal capital for such a long time. You are insulting Lagos.

Very funny. Except u are a miracle worker, that u carry out project way above ur annual income without borrowing. I know u may want to say u can achieve through ppr model, but hey, there is a limit that can go.

There's something I have been telling people for a long time, South East has the best state governors since 1999,

Peter Obi
Dave Umahi
Sullivan
Obiano
Underway

We're all above average.

Some of them tried.

Peter Obi was an immaculate model of transparency, he was competent to a fault. He used common sense to governance, spent all government money like he did in his own company, and it worked wonders. We didn't understand him at first, but by the time we saw what he did and how he ended neatly, we all fell in love with his magic touch.

God will punish Ben Ayade wherever he is and wherever he goes! His generations unborn will know no peace!

That stunted clown didn't start and complete one single stretch of road in Cross River State, spent 8years erecting one substandard flyover at Odukpani junction which he didn't even finish, left months of unpaid salaries, pensions and gratuities, only to raise the debt profile of the state by over 120percent while El-rufai of Kaduna spent the same governance period completely transforming Kaduna city into what it is today, yet the state's debt profile isn't even up to half of Cross River's.

Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade is not going to die pleasantly in this life or the next!

I'm really impressed with Peter Obis' capacity to manage scarce resources! I've always argued he's capable of squeezing water out of a stone!

The one of Imo just makes my blood boil! Where on ground in Imo is the 200 billion they've borrowed over the years? The state has just been unfortunate with governance for many years now! Even the academics that they used to excel in, they're now nowhere to be found!

@Bolded: i was guilty of this as well. Then my understanding of what good governance entails was a bit limited, but with the benefit of hindsight it's clear the man governed the state well!

What of the super highway i used to hear of during his tenure?

That super highway initiative was a conduit for him and his brother to hack down trees in thick and unexplored forests in the State for the timber benefits.

He subsequently bulldozed hundreds of such trees, processed and exported the timber, and when indigenes cried out having realised the deceit and damage to environmental resources, over a dozen civil society organisations took him to courts and the project was halted. That's basically how the much touted super highway became another failed government project.
