I am not going to type an epistle, I will just go straight to the point and ensure you get it right the first time.

The main reason for cracks in the holy matrimony especially for Nigerians living abroad is Finance. The second is lifestyle (infidelity, drugs etc), I may not have a solution to the lifestyle issues but I think I have a silver bullet for the financial issues.

Firstly if you are not yet married, this will be 💯% useful but if you are married, you may need to tweak it a bit to be useful.

Please 🙏 if you know at some point in your life you will nurse the ambition of travelling out of the country, DO NOT MARRY DOWN 👇. Marry a man or woman on the same financial level with you, it is very important, make I talk am again... Marry person wey una dey the same salary range.

The truth is if your wife earns in the same range like you in Nigeria, and yet she is SUBMISSIVE, take the marriage to Indochina, it will stand like the rock of Gibraltar and flourish like the biblical cedars of Lebanon.

Many people underestimate the value of CASH. Look my friend, cash is power 🙏 and power is intoxicating. How can you bring in someone who has never earned 100k in her life abroad and she undertakes some trainings, six months down the line she is making over $4k/m and you 🤔 it will be business as usual as the money increases and accumulates over time?

I have mediated in a handful marriages abroad, but the one wey dey make water 💦 💦 commot for my eyes na when you will see a full grown man begging wife wey you pay ticket for to come aboard. The truth is when you come abroad power may/will change hands, do not test such power with someone in an unfamiliar terrain.

Finally as women will say, it is better to cry in a RR than in Keke Napep, it is also better to come in with a financially stable partner so that if things do not work out at least both of you contributed financially hence you share your estate and life goes on tongue

I did not proof read this, swallow all the grammatical errors in peace ✌️

Money is a serious issue when you live abroad. This is because you both work and earn and there are bills to pay. Sometimes the wife might even earn higher

Men are mostly to blame. They tie their manhood to money. Imagine dating a lady while she was in university while you were working. You paid her bills, sponsored her finances during NySC, paid for the marriage. You didn’t allow her do any better work or you were earning more and she contributed nothing. Suddenly you are moving abroad where you need two income to survive.

The woman who has never paid bills or spent her money will still say a man is the provider in many cases. Some may agree to contribute but the man who has never done house chores or cooked while in Nigeria will not assist in house chores. Then resentment and hate enters leading to divorce. I know 5 people in my circle/ friends wey their marriage don scatter. The thing shock me.

It takes two to tangle. Both men and women are to be blame. Our society doesn't give much opportunities to women compared to men, hence the free time women have they use it do house chores while men provide.

The issue is just men adjusting in doing home chores and women contributing significantly to the house budget but no both parties want to maintain default settings.

Also issue of infidelity is a deal breaker.

I think women have as much opportunities as men, infact there are more women in schools than men

Can you please tell me one advantage men have today in terms of opportunities that women don't have?

It is very difficult for someone who has not been tested with the responsibility of paying bills to automatically understand what it means to be jointly responsible for maintaining a home. That is why there are credit ratings

I personally feel it's best you marry someone who is already sojourner there. Both of you know what to expect and he or she won't exploit you for papers or for money.

Also, both couples can be so fixated on making money that they neglect their both marriage and their children. Remember the primary purpose for emigrating was for a better life. That reason at times supercedes all else, stabbing themselves all over with many pains. (Read 1 Timothy 6:9-10)

Neglecting children is bad. What they don't teach you at home, they teach you outside.

These neglected kids enter into crime. They are associated with knife crimes. My younger brother who is now in Wales called them "the scourge of England." It is just sad.
