What Can It Take To Make Nigerians Less Tribalistic And Religion-centric? by AfricaUnited: 5:43pm On Sep 01, 2023 |
Tribalism and religion have caused unimaginable havoc in Nigeria. Elections have been ''lost'' and ''won'' based on tribalism and religious sentiments. Political disenfranchisement has been meted or not meted to citizens based on tribal and religious sentiments. National resources have been dispensed or not dispensed to citizens based on tribal and religious sentiments. Corruption has been condoned or condemned based on tribal and religious sentiments. Justice has been dispensed or not dispensed to citizens based on tribal and religious sentiments. Citizens have been arrested and jailed indefinitely or asked to go home and sin no more based on tribal and religious sentiments. Question of the week: What can it take to make Nigerians less tribalistic and religion-centric? Please, this is a serious post. No frivolities here. Thanks |

Voting in a person who has shown he can connect to most people, especially the youths who are largely together in work and play. We should stop supporting ethnic bigots whose only qualifications are their ability to punish the other tribe, and a track record of tribal hate and nepotism. Bigots on this forum are being paid by evil politicians to spew hate on every topic, and they are the ones who will still suffer the poverty while those who encouraged them escape with their loots |

The solution is simple: remove the 5 SE states out of Nigeria and let them have their DOT republic of bia.fraud. They are too toxic, tribalistic and filled with hatred! 4 Likes |

The solution lies with the Ibos. They should give every Nigerian the right to support any candidate of their choice and stop hating people cuz of their choice of candidate or party 2 Likes |

Offpointng: Stop deflecting the blame. You yoro-muslims have never voted for an Igbo candidate but the Igbos have voted yoruba candidate (OBJ). |

oilyngbati: I know you will blame Igbos ... I spit on your bald head Why do Yorubas like to blame Igbos for everything? you and the north have been ruling this country for over 50 years with nothing to show for it, we keep going backward, don't you think this is a high time to take a look at your incompetent political leaders? |

Offpointng: All you know how to do in your life is blaming, I'm sure you will blame someone ELSE even if your wife refuses you sex, you even blamed Igbos for Tinubu organized protest in Lagos against Jonathan. Oponu |

Yourbaslayer: Because Igbo people are not suffering in Nigeria. As long as Igbo people are doing better than everyone else, despite the hate, the hate will remain. In fact, the success of Igbo folks fuels the hate. Best to ignore it. Let them wallow in their misery, just be sure to protect yourself, when one of these tramps tries to do you harm. |

These people thought that they can deceive Nigerians for ever with their falsehood and propaganda. I am not Igbo but what I know is that Igbos are the least tribalised ethnic group in Nigeria. Sorry the truth is bitter, yorubas are the most tribalistic ethnic group in Nigeria . |

If you try to open the eyes of tribalists, to show that that culture and tribe are not real but only exist in the head, the tribal leaders will likely kill you. |

Yoruba and core North should form one country called Areduwa, while the rest of Nigeria continues as one. Problem solved. |
