No matter how smooth the surface of the road is, 4hrs from Lagos to Abuja should be a possibility for an expert driver.

One would have to do 175km per hour from calculation, which will be difficult to do, unless you want to die.

Brother, within Houston or Dallas Texas alone, the normal speed limit is around 70 to 80 miles per hour (120km /hr) within city limit oooo - more like you are driving within Abuja or lagos roads on a good day! a good example is say going to work on a daily! and people are not complaining! it is just normal everyday parole!
I really don't want to go there sha, i personally cringe when our same people in Nigeria complain about life! and wanting to travel to the West! Wow, a lot of people will experience what is referred to as culture shock and find it difficult to survive outside Nigeria. Why? if you are asking right? well, the western world is just a well-regulated world at every inch of it. The only reason western world is better than Naija. They respect the system even if no one is watching! There is rule of Law and all sorts of checks and balances. Now, do not get me wrong, corruption (corrupt police, politicians), dirty roads and environment exists! No doubt.
You, as an individual only need to make up your mind which side you want to belong. Good or bad, at the end of the day, it is a choice. It does not cost any right-thinking individual to just abide by the laws of the land (any land) and enjoy the fruit of whatever western world land you find yourself!

If you ask me - the major problem in Nigeria is "us" not having a system, or believing that you can always have your way if bribery is involved. What a wrong way to approach and live life! Life is very short oo and you really do not need all the short cuts if the society and systems are doing what is expected. It all starts from Primary school till University.

Nigeria does not need another white elephant project. Abeg put money into expanding railway infrastructures across Nigeria so that every major cities are connected. With a modern and robust railway network, Nigerians will dig their way out of poverty.

That you don't know this doesn't make it a lie.

We always go to Ondo state on bike from Folu, in Eti-Osa Local government Area of Lagos State to Araromi beach, Araromi town in Ilaje Local government Area of Ondo State and it is less than an hour. The bike men at Folu will take you 4k to and fro if you won't waste their time in Ondo. The price will be higher now because of subsidy removal.

Having a standard road network for that route is what I don't think can ever happen.

He further told the Governor, “We have a programme called Highway Development Management Initiative (HDMI) and it allows states and other private investors to engage with the Federal Government either to take over a fully constructed road to toll and maintain it in partnership with FG or take a brand new road and reconstruct it and toll it under laid down agreement.

If this initiative comes to reality, imagine for every 40km drive there is a toll at each point. It would be unbearable for motorist.

I don't think umahi knows what supersonic means. I thought it was a railway at first and wondered where and how Nigeria got the money from when even the US/EU are not even sure if they can finance such in their countries. Plus what kind of regular car can drive 700km in just 4hrs? Are there no speed limits like the Autobahn in Germany?

a supersonic highway designed for travel at high speeds, having more than one lane for each direction of traffic, a safety strip dividing the two directions, and cloverleaves to route the traffic on and off the highway. : Compare expressway.its allows for speed at all leans

This is actually very true there's even a route that can connect koko in delta to lekki without passing through ore in ondo if the route is constructed it will take less than four hours to travel from delta state to lagos.

Have you factored out the inpact of the terrain on the cost of the project? Some projects re not just feasible based in ROI and if you now factor in corruption it is a no brainer. The man should just focused first on restoring the current federal roads and make them worthwhile instead of all this political statements that he will later say he didn't say them.

Whether or not you like him is immaterial. Any well educated person should know he's talking absolute rubbish.

Sounds like someone made a fanciful presentation for hyperloop or something like that and he's mistaking that for a mainland bridge.

Sometimes,we need to employ what you call critical thinking before making statements. For him to say ,using that route is 4hrs from Lagos to Abuja means the whole movement has been evaluated. If the normal distance is 700km ,it means using this new route may reduced the distance to like 500km or less since it's a shorter cut . Thanks and God bless

That would be nice. The ripple effect would mean that traveling from Lagos to any state up north would be significantly faster.

I discovered recently that there's a place in Lekki that links to Ondo state (along the coast/beach)... people now take bikes from Lagos to Ondo state.

A lot of the places we spend several hours traveling to are just a stone throw but there hasn't been a comprehensive road network plan to ensure shortest possible distance.

Thanks for the info , I will no longer drive my balls & Penis for long hours journey
