Why is this a shocking revelation?

According to their doctrine, an Elder is chosen with the help of the "holy spirit" of "God".



So why didn't the "holy spirit" know that this man was already a convicted rapist and still chose him as an Elder only for him to repeat his crime and rape young girls in the Jehovah Witness organization?

This proves that the selection or appointment of Elders in the JW religion is not backed by any fake "holy spirit", but is backed by dumb humans who couldn't do any background checks to prevent a convicted rapist from joining their religion, let alone becoming an Elder and having unsupervised access to young children.

If this was really the "only true religion", that had the backing of the "holy spirit", THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED.
