This nice … but here is my observation… currently if you show Anambra you brag about the bridge in Awka, Airport, ICC etc these are huge infrastructure that have improved Anambra.. thank you willie Obiano … so therefore Soludo should be poised to do more…
He should focus on infrastructures … Obiano constructed not less than 9bridges which are huge infrastructures both in town and villages.
Soludo should not make so much noise about the few he wants to build.
I thought based on what his predecessors has done more bridges and round abouts and center pieces should be manifested and work towards it.

About this fun city… is okay…but the object is just vague, regardless is good…

More huge roundabouts more street lights and paved streets make road developments iconic

Anambra state have their business summit on 7th September, those of them from Anambra shouldn’t attend that nonsense India summit

Soludo is a career politician. As a career politician he will play career politics. Obi and Obiano were unknown (in politics) and selected from the private sector to come serve and leave. Anambra has been fortunate with that situaton. Soludo has been running around looking for a position since Obasanjo. Anyone who is known more for politics than their life endeavors will show you why this is the case in due time. Forget this technocrat nonsense. the technocrats we know are being recruited by organizations around the world. When he governorship is over Obiano, like Obi before him, has an entire life he can return to. Soludo will stockpile public money to sustain his political career and will regularly side with the north (with glee) in issues concerning security and safety. He spent the whole of Jonathan's admin campaigning for Buhari and lobbing all sorts of venom on Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala because that's what he's feeders sent him to do. Since ppl have the memory of a fish, that one won't be counted. If Anambra fails to elect Maduka, who is not a career politician and doesn't need Nigerian politics or even Nigeria to survive, you will see something.

Ikengawo, the bitter envious frustrated Imo baastard, Soludo has performed better than all the governors that have ever ruled your useless backward worthless shithole Imo state. Most imo indigenes are living in Anambra because Anambra leaders made the state conducive and prosperous for Imo indigenes that left their imo state for Anambra. Face your useless Imo state where there is nothing to show, from thief Ohakim to 419 kingpin Okorocha and the hardened fraudster Uzodimma that has looted imo state with nothing to show. Imo state has never had good leaders, that is why Soludo is like a prayer request for Imo state people

Thank you for sharing … the road is not wide and yet not dualized… while both sides are free … a village will not remain a village forever… why don’t you build it as if is town… in that way migration from cities are automatic and in the future there will not be any call of dualization of the roads…

So that is the bridge of the amansea river … why can’t that bridge be reasonably higher? Look at the poor one sided rail on the poor bridge…Rivers should be allowed to flow free and the bridges above it should be high incase the river increase as well as encouraging fishing directly under the bridge. Kindly go and check the one Obiano built at the riverine area.. please I want higher standards for my state not mediocrity every where….truly not satisfactory

Not all roads can be dualized. Let's also consider the financial situation of the state. We haven't dualized trunk B roads in the state, like Awka-Ekwulobia and others, talk more of this rural road. The most important thing is for them to build solid roads. When the need for expansion arises years down the line, it will be done. Even in most developed countries, not all roads are dualized.

There's nothing more brainless than low bridges. When Nigerians stop choosing ignorance they will realize rivers are highways/railways that can be used from travel and trade. But at that point there will be so many low hanging lazy bridges blocking the routes that we won't even have that option.

The development we choose is worst than no development

Brother I vehemently disagree with you… Anambra is expanding in full force, if is not expanding they will not consider constructing that road…
Remember how aroma was before Obiano rebuilt it that every picture of Anambra is finer because it bears bridge. He should do the same… if that road was properly constructed people will automatically remain at that rural area therefore they will not be heavy concentration at the city.

All the roads we are crying to be dualized how many has been done? None!!! only promises why not avert a future one? Most of our leaders and people supporting them lack vision. Wake up Anambra is developing all round forget rural areas make every where a town build the roads like town. Awka is moving down to Amansea you are calling it rural…

Look at the joke of a bridge built on a fine river will it cost fortunes to raise it up? So It will cost fortunes to dualise a road that both sides are free, also cost fortunes to make atleast an “n” curved bridge for the river freely flow? Also it will cost fortunes to put a nice rail on the bridge… just hear your self

With mediocrity we can’t have a city not with these Golgotha roads but with wide dualized paved roads with light poles , covered drains and traffic lights

I agree totally that Anambra is expanding in all directions. I also agree that the culvert should have been replaced with a proper bridge. My point is that we have cities that are glorified villages, without proper infrastructure. This should be the main focus, while the basic access is given to inaccessible areas.

Which would you prefer, dualization of Awka Road down to main market Onitsha, with side walks and possibly an interchange at Ziks roundabout. Or dualization of Amansea to Ufuma Road. Awka needs total revamping.
So while we want all roads in Anambra dualized, opportunity cost is important.

My disappointment with Soludo is that all noise about having the capacity to do things differently (attract PPPs, get international funding etc) is a mirage. He is just a regular politician. Performing well below expectations.

Ekwulobia flyover construction is standard. I monitor the execution of that project and can confirm its top quality and the pace with which they do the piling and pile cap is commendable. The only downside is the single lane design. But I think it will come out great when they are done.

I voted for him. I have since expressed my great disappointment with the fellow. But I try to be objective. When I see a good one from him, I acknowledge. The fun city will also be a nice one if completed.

The state government needs to adopt two ways of funding transport infrastructure. For state roads federal allocation for city roads property and business tax.

It's ridiculous that you will see a 300 metre road in Awka or Onitsha with 40 buildings using a dirt road . A road of that length can be constructed for around 40m or roughly 1m per building. The way roads are financed in the rest of the world is through bonds. You collect property tax over 10-30 years. You spread that bond over 10-30 years. It becomes 200k a year. In Onitsha with lots of multi-tenant buildings it's very easy to pay off that 200k. A 6 unit building that's 33k a year.

Places with high net worth individuals are supposed to have good roads based on property tax. But you go to Udoka, Ngozika, broken down or non-existent roads.

The problem is everyone including Soludo is fixated with inflating the cost of road construction ......we all know that this is the easiest avenue for embezzlement of public funds. What is this nonsense of constructing 1km of road for 500 million naira! The naira has not fallen that low nah!

There is something about this Soludo man that is just OFF! I cannot place my finger on it! His intentions are not altogether altruistic!

I really enjoyed this Soludo media interaction. Hopefully, Thursday's Anambra investment forum will be a huge success. Massive infrastructural development without massive private sector engagement in a country like Nigeria that has almost no resources left for development is mere daydreaming. I am happy that Soludo understands that the role of government isn't quite to solve every infrastructural problem, but to provide the enabling environment and security for the private sector to easily come in to assist the government.

To really make Anambra liveable, we have to go back to the basics and develop the right mindset for our people. Soludo is actually struggling in an atmosphere of severe shortage of resources. However, merely increasing taxes on the people isn't the solution. You have to expand the tax base by creating new areas and investments in society so that the government can earn revenue from the new areas. I am glad that Soludo is looking at making a systematic change starting with changing the mindset of impunity among our people and making sure that government derives revenue from levies/fines imposed on those anti-social personalities who cannot follow societal rules. I am glad that roads will be marked and an enforcement team will impound and fine anyone caught flaunting traffic laws in Anambra. I wish a similar strategy was also deployed for those dumping refuse into gutters or caught littering the road. It is all about helping our people to develop the right attitude required to live in a decent society through enforcing the laws against the anti-social elements who have no regard for societal rules. Thus have made our society an unliveable nasty place for our people.

While we keep pushing for more decent roads and infrastructural interventions in Anambra cities, I am thoroughly glad that Soludo also has plans to address the rampant antisocial behaviors that have taken deep root in our society and made us appear as a backward, uncivilized people.

It is baffling how these simple and workable solutions are not given consideration by people in government. My brother you have said it all. Unfortunately, when they seek public opinion, through his usual media chats, sycophants will have the day praising him from beginning till end. Very unfortunate.

I have always wondered how difficult it is to beautify, say from Amawbia flyover to Ezeuzu junction, for starters. Recover all the setback on the express and turn them green. Soludo was in Kigali the other day. Don't dey learn anything.

ASWAMA To Partner Indigenous Firm On Waste To Wealth Conversion

By Chibuzor Okoye (ABS Correspondent)

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ANAMBRA State Waste Management Authority, (ASWAMA), Mr. Mike Ozoemena says the state is about to witness new wave of waste management that will entrench clean and green environment.

Mr Ozoemena disclosed this when a Port Harcourt based indigenous company, Boskel Nigeria Limited demonstrated how to turn waste to wealth in Awka

The ASWAMA Boss noted that the company has informed them on how to use the machine to convert waste to wealth, as well as used waste to generate oil and gas.

Mr. Ozoemena revealed that Anambra generates about 4500 tons of waste daily and that the new multipurpose waste machine the firm promotes will be a game changer in the business of waste management.

He maintained that the state wants to end dumping of refuse at all costs in order to entrench liveable and prosperous homeland.

Speaking during the demonstration, the Managing Director of the company, Dr. Kelue Chukwuogo whose company came with a machine explained the nitty gritty of integrated waste management system to the ASWAMA board.

Dr. Chukwuogo while describing the functions of the machine they came with, revealed that the machine is a recycling conveyor, pyrolysis, compactor, incinerator among others and said that it is new method of waste collection globally.
