In a relationship (not necessarily, marriage), what you naturally expect when you catch/confront a cheating partner is denials, apologies or a tearful break. You don't expect that your partner will go a step further to decommission you totally.

Oh, and I remember this. While ideally, one should be open and comfortable with their partner, and shouldn't put off having difficult discussions, because they are scared of their response or "punishment", cheating has entered the picture here and so, thrown everything off balance. So by all means, employ a cost-benefit analysis or whatever business technique you need to protect yourself. Cheating itself is already an aberration in a monogamous relationship jointly sworn to. If they can cheat, they can do anything else.

The Indians are brilliant set of people. They are among the top 10 manufacturing countries in the world.

He doesn't even know that English is the official language in Indian schools. Just like nigeria, India also uses English and then Hindu as its most uniting language across the country.

Many people have asked this guy the practicality of breaking Africa's language down in 2000 different languages. Does he think that is possible? But he just keeps making noise.

Nigeria has more than 700 different languages, like think about that, 700 different languages in this country. Does he believe that gwari people in Abuja, nupe people in Jos, itsekiri in Delta, idoma in Benue, Kalabari in Bayelsa, Ogoni in rivers, that all these tribes and several more, all have to go back and learn physics in their languages all in the name of preservation??

What is the practicality of that?

All I'd tell founders and would-be founders from what I've learnt studying the ecosystem is, be careful who funds you first. It sets the template for how the business would turn out.

You'd sign away rights and give in-roads to falsify bank statements and valuations so the angel investors can cashout big time during the next fund-raising round.

The VCs who helped Float raise the $17 million knew it was cooking the books 'cause VCs have a right to see your financials. I dare add, the angel investors helped them cook the books.

Even nobler, more upright VCs like Y Combinator make you sign away rights hidden in VC jargon which means they determine how your business is structured and you must bend to their terms. And it's hidden in plain sight on the "About" page of their website.

These VCs are mostly polished loan sharks.

Even Flutterwave's $3.1 billion valuation in January 2021 most likely was bloated. In fact, it was. They got fined a year later in the U.S.

You read of companies valued at $500 million and the financials don't add up. There's a strict formulae for calculating valuation but these guys just ditch it for greed.

PayDay, Patricia... Their valuation got inflated deliberately, and the angel investors cashed out big time.

Subsaharan Africa Fintech space is like the reality TV adaptation of the "Wolf of Wall Street" movie.
in simpler terms, there is hardly any business in Nigeria that isn't shrouded in fraud?

Yes. Otem claims India was a world power in the ancient world. In that era, Ancient Egypt (a black African civilization), Hittite, and India were the world powers, according to him.

While there's a solid body of evidence from many other sources for the first two claims, I didn't see corroborating sources for the last one.

However, since more than 97% of history of planet Earth is lost and undocumented, it's possible India had been a world power in the past.

As for those mocking Otem without even knowing the basics about the guy, your problem is low intelligence. On his threads, he clearly stated Otem and Atum, which is also called Tem, are one and the same.

There's a reason his moniker is OtemAtum. As I said some time ago, it's the most stupid Africans that mock Otem or Tem. Once I see your post here mocking any of those two, immediately I regard your IQ as very low.

It's only in Africa I'd been seeing m.orons mocking great minds that would dwarf the achievements of some of the most renowned thinkers the West has ever produced.

There are. Many. Countless.

But if your business involves you moving money/monies in large amounts and everyday sales (even in small amount but in several quantities), you are already a target or magnet for money launders or persons with underhanded financial dealings.

That's why I'd likely quickly get investors sending me response mails if I'm pushing a fintech product than if I'm pushing cleantech, EdTech, or healthtech products, even though the later show better prospective in the long run.

And your first investor - the angel investor - is likely a loan shark who thinks he has a hold on you because he dared to take the risk investing in you first. And he's sort of right.

Opay got a $424+ million funding based on a $2+ billion valuation. As at 2021 when they raised, if you used Opay where the transactions were free, how were they able to get that kind of valuation when it wasn't that profitable obviously?

Simple: So they could raise the $424+ million they got and the investors in previous rounds could cash out by selling their stake or equity. And to do that you have to tamper with the financial records. Replace Opay with Patricia, PayDay, Float... And so it goes.

But Opay is backed by the CBN so what they might have done isn't illegal technically.

I'm not here to engage a person suffering from a maniac disorder. Yesterday, I read all about Einstein throughout the day for my papers and books, and I even mentioned him here. I guess I'm worshipping him too for devoting a whole day to study his works because they're related to my research works.

Most people have told you that you're not mentally sound, and yet you don't know you should do yourself some good and see a psychiatrist.

The same maniac fellow has once said I'm Otem, even though I'm a Yoruba guy while Otem is an Ebira guy from Kogi that even speaks his language regularly here on Nairaland.

This morning, he said I'm worshipping myself since his maniac condition doesn't allow him to tell one nairalander from the other. Before today runs out, he'll still link two completely different people here as one.

Lols, talking about worshipping a person or a god in today's age of science and technology. Who get time for that? Lols

Yesterday, I checked the number of books I've to finish within the next one year to develop the mathematical frameworks for some theoretical models I built. And till now, I don't even know where I'd find the time to finish all of them within that period.

When people are concerned about science and making scientific discoveries, na religion unintelligent Africans dey carry for head.

Kudos to Edo State, Obaseki and EDSIEC for conducting LG elections. Dem try.

Some states governors will tell you they don't have money to conduct LG elections. Yahaya Bello comes to mind.

Just imagine the nonsense going on in Ogun State if that report is true. Maybe this is the reason state governors keep rejecting financial and administrative autonomy for LGs .

....kudos kรฉ? For that Sham? Just in a LG, LP polled 400+ votes, APC polled 700+ votes while PDP polled 1m+ votes. 1m+ votes in a LG in Edo State and you are calling it an Election? LOL

If there's any irregularities, Edo State IEC will do the needful hopefully. BVAS will expose that fraud.

does it include hotels, restaurants and the likes? Because most, if not all business have to do with profit making, and in making profit, you have to buy something or sell something, that is, apart from if your business is rendering of service.

I recently got whim of how some NGOs are used to launder money in huge amounts, despite them not being profit oriented.

Shaqfu, if you care to, here's an article by Tech Crunch on how VCs forge and manipulate the valuations of startups they invest in. https://techcrunch.com/2021/12/10/the-art-of-vc-startup-valuations-is-a-forgery/?guccounter=2

It's not indepth per se, neither does it exemplify with the Nigerian tech ecosystem, but it's an opener. Ignore most of the VC jargon if it's easier so you don't get confused, but it's an in-road into the dark world of startup valuations.

I think you guys are so stuck on what you think is "right" that you don't see the possibility of some people actually waiting it out to take their revenge or even move on.

Coming back to Nigeria to start over is equally as hard as staying there with the wife and licking your wounds while planning your next move.

I currently have men in my workplace older than me who have had to start over and you can legit see the damage done.

My issue with you guys in issues like this is that you think it's either your way of reasoning or the person is immature.

Read about what people have done to cheating partners.
You can use reddit and you'll see that what Melvin and that babe are saying isn't unrealistic in anyway.
My only issue is just calling him confronting the lady a bad decision. It's not.. Same way it is not a bad decision if he stays back and plots.

Father said no, and my friend respectfully told Father that he cannot resolve their issue because he has no marriage experience. Father was shocked and surprised, he told them to go see their respective parents.

Did the reverend father not refer them to their marriage sponsors?
