PRESS RELEASE SOLID MINERALS WILL CONTRIBUTE 50% TO NIGERIA’S GDP – ALAKE ...To create Solid Minerals Corporation, Mining Police The Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr. Dele Alake, has said that the ministry will add at least 50% to the Nigerian economy, just as he said that the Ministry is poised to attract Foreign Direct Investment to the country. The minister, who spoke during the unveiling of the 'Agenda for the Transformation of the Solid Minerals for International Competitiveness and Domestic Prosperity', in Abuja on Sunday, said that the ministry will focus on a seven-point agenda including the creation of the Nigerian Solid Minerals Corporation, Joint Ventures with Mining Multinationals, Big Data on specific seven priority minerals and their deposits, 30-day grace for illegal miners to join artisanal cooperatives, Mines Surveillance Task Force and Mine Police, Comprehensive review of all mining licenses and the creation of six (6) Mineral Processing Centres to focus on Value-Added products. “President Bola Tinubu has taken firm, courageous decisions that have reset the logic of the Nigerian economy. The removal of subsidy and the adoption of a single exchange rate are among the fundamental transformational policies of this administration. This radical approach to making the economy resilient in the long term is the guiding principle of the management of the Ministry. “The Ministry has to take the bull by the horns if the country must reap the harvest of the trillion dollars worth of minerals under the ground across the country. To achieve this laudable objective, there has to be a paradigm shift in the strategy by re-positioning the sector in terms of the human and capital factors that can drive its transformation,” the minister said. On the creation of the Nigerian Solid Minerals Corporation, the minister said “mining is big business. Nigeria must assert its presence in this environment by replicating its strategic positioning in the petroleum sector by setting up a corporate body that plays in this field. Consequently, the Ministry shall work towards the incorporation of the Nigerian Solid Minerals Corporation.” According to the Minister, the corporate body will have subsidiaries doing business in the seven priority areas that require immediate intervention and focus which include: Gold, Coal, Limestone, Bitumen, Lead, Iron-ore and Baryte. Existing enterprises, such as the National Iron-Ore Company, and ongoing arrangements, such as the Bitumen Concessioning Programme, will be reviewed to fit into this new system. “The proposed corporation will seek and secure partnership investment agreements with big multinational companies worldwide to leverage on the attractive investment-friendly regime operating in the country to secure massive Foreign Direct Investment for the mining sector. The positioning of the national corporation as a guarantor and protector of the partnership agreements is expected to assure partners of our seriousness and fidelity. “Similarly, the Solid Minerals Corporation will provide robust support for Nigerian businessmen seeking funding abroad and help to authenticate their investment proposals to speed up the commitment of their partners to invest. Domestically, the Solid Minerals Corporation will engage the Nigerian financial system, which has demonstrated palpable reluctance to support mineral prospecting and mining because of the long-term gestation of value generation by developing a Fund to facilitate investments in mining at interest rates that will be mutually agreed,” the minister said. The minister said the country will leverage on the abundant precious minerals including gold, manganese, bitumen, lithium, iron ore, lead, zinc, limestone, uranium, columbite, barite, kaolin, gemstones, coal, topaz and copper that are in massive proportions to attract investors into country. |

2) Nigeria has an estimated reserves include Gold (1 million ounces); Limestone (568 metric tonnes), Lead/Zinc, (Baryte (15 million metric tonnes), Bitumen (N1.1 billion barrels), Iron Ore (3 billion Metric Tonnes) and Coal, (N396 million). How did a sector with over 2 million operators, including over 633 small-scale companies and 251, 500 registered miners. The minister also said the ministry is introducing a security tax force and mines police that will help the country combat illegal mining and smuggling. “For the last time, let me declare that the Ministry is giving such persons 30 days grace to join a miners' co-operative or find another vocation to do. On the expiration of the period, the full weight of the law will fall on anyone seen on a mining site without a determinable status. This message will be interpreted into Nigerian languages and broadcast on the radio to ensure no one is ignorant of this directive. "From October, a rejuvenated security regime will become active in the solid minerals sector. This will include the Mine Police, sourced from the Nigeria Police and specially trained to detect illegal mining and apprehend offenders. The new Mines Surveillance Security Task Force will coordinate the Mines Police and proactively address high risk incidences of breach of Mining Laws. The Federal and State governments will also be encouraged to allocate the prosecution of cases against illegal miners to competent courts,” the minister said. Speaking on the focus area the ministry will target towards improving developing the sector, the minister said that the ministry has identified several factors such as inefficient geo-data, weak implementation and enforcement, poor environmental, safety, and health policies, fragility and conflict, unregulated artisanal mining, low technical capacity, lack of access to financing, weak inter-governmental and inter-agency coordination and weak federal/state relations. ...:Anywhere you've this religion of 'piss', the indigenous people have to open their eyes and brain wide. Before they give the natives the Ilorin treatment and take over their land using Islam. Anyone, who's following the news about the Isese vs Islam issue in Ilorin and saw how some Isese adherents were barred by the Muslims from engaging in their religious practices in public and some of them jailed, and such a person is still welcoming terrorists of the 'religion of piss' into their area, they're playing with a cancer in the name of Islam that destroys your native culture and take over your land. I don't know how a religion can be so evil. They welcome you into their town peacefully, and when you're comfortable and have gained ground with many fellow Muslims, the next thing is for you to start attacking and demonizing their pagans, your hosts, calling them all sorts of evil names to take over the land, saying you're fighting jihad for your god. But in reality, you're mere thieves, land grabbers, and criminals. One fact I love about the Igbo people is that they didn't allow that evil religion to gain ground in their region, unlike in Yorubaland. |

I just see all the Yoruba Muslims defending Islam online and offline and laugh. They don't know their left from right. Most of them don't understand Arabic. They read Qur'an and Haadith in English language and Yoruba and feel they understand the texts, but if you can't read and understand Qur'an in Arabic language specifically, you don't really know that text as the Qur'an itself even states explicitly that the book only exists in Arabic language. Lols, the Arabs are wise. Only critical thinkers actually understand why they put that clause in the Qur'an that the book only exists in Arabic. Any other version in another language is a mere translation of the book, and not the real Qur'an. This is why no real non-Arab Muslim ever observes Sallah (their obligatory prayer) in their native language. It's forbidden in Islam. All Muslims must observe the ritual in Arabic. When ex-Muslims, who can read and understand Qur'an in Arabic read the book again after leaving the religion, see how a so-called God addresses humans, non-Muslims and pagans, in the most dehumanizing and degrading way, it's so annoying. So many hate speeches, barbaric, and anti-human statements in the book. You see hateful and vile words such as "fasiqun" (used to refer to criminals), "khadibun" (used to refer to liars, fraudsters, and ignoble people) and many others. A so-called holy book is referring to humans with these evil words. For what? They refuse to bow down to you, an ancestor of the Arabs, because they don't want to betray or turn their backs on the ancestor of their own land or don't even want to have anything to do with religion at all. When these hateful and vile words in the book are translated to English or Yoruba, the mischievous people use less offensive words, euphemisms, and completely wrong translations, calling Allah Olorun, Esu Satan, and many others to deceive simple-minded people who don't love checking all things in detail before believing them. But their alfas and imams who understand the actual meaning of those words in Arabic act on the words exactly as they're in the Qur'an when dealing with non-Muslims. Thus, they attack, demonize, and condemn the pagans and non-Muslims calling them the worst of names in their sermons. And the non-Muslims and pagans call these clerics extremists and fundamentalists, wondering, "isn't it the same Qur'an or the same religion these other Muslims who are relatively peaceful are following"? But they don't know the majority of those ones don't actually understand Arabic so they can't read the text. Fortunately, the religion will die in the coming years because its pillar of support has been cut off as science and technology develops and keeps on developing. Over the past few years, I've had many interactions with some elderly Isese people in several villages and towns where I encouraged them to develop some ancient knowledge they know using the modern scientific approach. It's important to expose any kind of knowledge to scientific scrutiny, and the children of the Isese practitioners can even apply the scientific method in this regard. I urged them to pass on their knowledge to their children and ensure those ones pursue a career in science and technology. One of the unfortunate events that happened in the past in Africa was, many philosophers and scientists of old hid their knowledge from the people, and this great body of knowledge died with them. This really affected many parts of this region a lot when the colonialists and slave masters entered Africa, and the people couldn't match the military might of the Europeans. People shouldn't adopt the same approach again, and they should strive to develop science and technology in the native languages. Many of these elderly pagans still have some deep knowledge that can really benefit Africans in many areas. I purposely explained some of them in my post about Ifa last week. Such deep knowledge should be explored further and built on so that any slaves of the Arabs that attacks Isese practitioners and other native people unjustly, they can defend themselves, their territory, and ancestral heritage. At least, I witnessed some of such knowledge "with my two koro koro eyes" that can make a person develop maniac conditions even without using toxins. And this one even has a scientific basis. There are others as well. It's extremely important for a people to develop science and technology in their mother tongue in modern times. If not, when the invaders and terrorists come, they will be weak and at their mercy. |

Stereotypes aren't good. I know what I'll say now wouldn't mean much to you but the one good thing I always personally admired about you was your seeming detribalized nature. In my eyes, you were like the flip side of Dayo. The "good dayo" if I may. A strong yoruba nationalist, a tribal warrior, a tribal jingoist and chauvinist but who didn't let that love and pride for his own tribe translate into extreme hate and disgust for another tribe. You faced the ultimate test in the last election and you shone through so brightly. It was highly admirable. For better context, you, a proud yoruba lover, had a choice of supporting a powerful yoruba candidate vs an underdog Igbo candidate, and despite your strong inclination and love of tribe, you stuck to your most inner principles of integrity, fairness and competence and went against your own tribesman even though he was the more favoured in the race. 🫡🫡 That earned my respect greatly, one I haven't been able to express because you always choose to be verbally violent. I think Messi's bodyguard in America has one of the most difficult jobs in the world. Imagine protecting a player that is loved by almost everybody that finds themselves in his presence.....He has good heart and won't hesitate to allow anybody come for pictures, autograph and even a hug. Yet ur job is to limit the number of times such incidents happen both on and off the pitch 🤦♂️
