Even substandard buildings last longer, atleast with the tiling and the roof quality, proper money was spent.

If you observe very well it is only the roof that partially appears to have collapsed on one side of the building, it seems to be a unique roof design at least in Nigeria , but an investigation would need to be carried out.

Usually these things occur not because of the engineering or design, but because the builder decides to cut corners when not being properly supervised.

I guess Umahi's system of supervision failed in this instance and that may have had something to do with the unusual design.

Let those criticising Umahi be calming down , One partially failed roof amongst the thousands of structures he has built in 8 years is nothing to be concerned about.

The Government should arrest themselves for doing a bad job...

I have never in my life read or hear where a president is invited to commission a project
in the civilized world except in this country. The money and logistics used for commissioning this market can build another one.
Now it has collapsed, they better come and uncommission it.
