Pandemonium broke out at University road leading to the University of Lagos state this morning, September 6, after men of the Nigerian Police fired teargas to disperse students of the University of Lagos protesting a hike in their school fees.

Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students had announced plans to protest against the recent hike in tuition fees in the school on September 6.

I'm in support of moderate increase in federal higher institution

Higher institution paying less than 30k (barely 40 dollars) as school fees is not sustainable

During my time in Yabatech I paid 19,200 in one of the year this is not scalable else there will be strike every month
must u support everything evil in ur Lyf ?

May evil never leave u and ur family

See this animal. You paid 19200 when graduates could get jobs and under a descent economy but expecting parents to pay more now with bad economy and no jobs.

I am not against any protest.

But what are these guys protesting about. University edu is a privilege.

Do they still want to continue paying 19,500. Less than 30 dollars. It's not sustainable. With all these subsidized edu, they will still japa from the country. Look at the medical people.

Some of these students use iPhone 14.
Unilag should cost nothing less than 500,000 yearly

UNILAG? Police should shoot each and every one of them. Don’t pity any of them. The suffer they supported is here to stay. Anyone who will protest against hike in electric tariff, school fees, fuel etc should be shoot immediately.

This suffer go reach all of una wella [/quote]

The funny part of this story is that a useless bastard like you was only able to go to school because the fees where low.

If the fees where somewhat upto 100k, u will not be able to but the same idiot is now online talking absolute trash.

my twin sister pays over 100k in OOU while I was paying 19,200 in federal school

19,200 schools will always go on strike (barely $50 per annum as at then)

I believe goverment should concentrate on paying lecturers salary while each school should have some level of autonomy and be able to run itself

this same country have so many people sending their children to private school because of commatose state of government school, we even spend billions yearly on foreign education

are you happy about the monthly ASUU strike issue? government cannot completely subsidize everything

the current real value of UNILAG school fees can't be less than 400k per year, let the government pay 75% subsidy while student pay around 100K+, but thinking school should be completely free in a country of 200m is comedy

parent should give birth to what they can train, you can't give birth to 7 children and be looking for free quality school
