That there's a lacuna in your understanding of the Trinity. When you understand it better you will understand my point and every other thing in the bible will make more sense.

When Trinity was never the point of discussion!

When I never mentioned anything like Trinity!

Yet you can say "...there's a lacuna in your understanding of the Trinity."

Something must be wrong somewhere....

If the bible is about God and Man and Trinity is an explanation of God and Man, do you still not see where this is going?

The word Trinity was not mentioned by you or Max but it was the basis or your argument about Jehovah (God the Father) and Jesus (God the Son).

You're the only one who knows what is moving and where it's going.

The word Trinity was not mentioned by you or Max but it was the basis or your argument about Jehovah (God the Father) and Jesus (God the Son).
If I never mentioned Trinity, then how can it be the basis of my discussion?

I simply quote what the Bible says, Max made his own claim which I asked him to simply provide a Bible verse to support his claim.

So you ended up bringing what was never part of my discussion and try to force it in my mouth is what I don't understand here.

Was this thread about Trinity? No!

Did I mention anything like Trinity? No!

So, why must you bring Trinity into this discussion?

I don't have anything against you talking about Trinity but my main concern is staying within the corridor of POV. Going out of POV is derailing your own thread.

If you want to discuss Trinity, it's either you create a thread about it or come clear on it during the discussion on a thread.

What you have simoly said now is that if I want to talk about God or man, I should open another thread. Because no discussion about the bible is not one way or another connected to the measure of our understanding of God and Man which is what Trinity is about.

Anyway, this is my last comment on the topic with you here.
Thanks for your engagement and contribution.

Please exempt me from your ARGUMENT with your fellow trinitarian, i am one of Jehovah's Witnesses there's no God the father and God the Son in our own Bible.
Jehovah is the father of all creations and Jesus is one of God's sons.
If you have any problem with that first go and settle with your fellow trinitarians, be certain of what you want to believe before coming back to us! smiley

There in lies the difference and great gulf between our beliefs.
Your organisation has a different Bible from everyone else.
So clearly we can not agree.just like Judaism and Islam until we come into agreement scripturally about which of us is telling the Truth.

It's not mine to settle. It's between Him and God.

Only God gives understanding to any one when they obtain mercy from him.

At least your Bible teaches that the Holy spirit is the power of God.

Whoever is wrong or right between us, it is the Holy Spirit that determines that according to the state of our hearts.

I once tried JW but noticed so many errors, I had to leave.

This is exactly the same thing every reader of the Bible will say.
God's Holy Spirit helps sincere and honest hearted individuals to AGREE so that they can WORK together as the SPIRIT of God guides them but once you're unable to agree then it means God's Holy Spirit isn't with you people.
That's the import of 2Corinthians 3:6 which says:

who has indeed adequately qualified us to be ministers of a new covenant, not of a written code, but of spirit; for the written code condemns to death, but the spirit makes alive.

Each of you will continue to CONDEMN one another when you're relying on your personal understanding of the WRITTEN CODE but God's Holy Spirit will help humble ones to work together because it's ALIVE in their midst.

No wonder James said your FAITH cannot help you to WORK together is DEAD! James 2:18-26 smiley

When you depend on the Holy Spirit, you submit to God's will.

It seemed Paul and Peter were divided but they were simply fulfilling each other's calling, one to the circumcised, the other to the uncircumcised.

When you understand this, you'll understand every thing that's happening in the Body of Christ cross-denominationally.

Paul was serving under the supervision of a Governing Body where Peter was the spokesman so they all had the same line of thought! John 17:22; 1Corinthians 1:10

So go and agree with your fellow trinitarians as for me and my global family we are doing the will of our God unitedly as one big and happy family of peace loving worshipers, our God is not your God. There's no confusion in our midst! 1Corinthians 14:33 smiley

Every written or spoken word/statement is open to confusion or agreement as subject to individual interpretation.
What determines the final interpretation is whoever is considered the Overall Authority concerning the word/statement.

For Language, it is the Dictionary of that Language- Oxford or Longman for English and others acceptable body.
For Profession Jargons, it is whatever book is peculiar to that profession. Lawyers have theirs, likewise Doctors, Engineers, etc
For Countries, it is the Constitution as documented by the 3 Arms of government
For Religion, it is the Holy Book as documented by it's Progenitor/Founder

For JW bible, I believe you agreed that is Jehovah and documented by Charles Taze Russell.
it is not that there is no confusion in your bible, because even in your meetings you share your various views. However, all your interpretations must be subject to your leader's interpretation according to your journals.

As for the Body of Christ (Disciples of Christ), the scriptural Overall Authority concerning the Bible is the Trinity of God (1 John 5:7) documented by various Authors/Prophets as inspired by God and revealed by God.

The agreed interpretation is what is revealed by the God- the Trinity, to the 5 Fold Ministry for the equipping of saints.
I know this is quite much to assimilate at once, but I hope it helps.

1 Corinthians 12: 4-6
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.

Ephesians 4: 4-16
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore He says:

“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”

(Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also [d]first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

What God promised is that the Bible will be used among His worshipers to settle their disparities peacefully among themselves, divert their resources into production of food and information materials, erased the making, buying, selling and usage of weapons in their midst and vow never to raise weapons against anyone neither will they learn how to kill again! Isaiah 2:2-4
Once that's achieved in any global group then God's will has been done successfully.
That's what Jesus meant when he said:

“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of LAWLESSNESS" Matthew 7:21-23

If you're not able to utilize God's word to achieve the above then your calling Jesus "Lord Lord" is of no relevance! smiley

What God gave scriptures for is for us to know and do His Will and it is not for you or me to decide. It is also decided in the scriptures;

2Tim.3.16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

If God's word should be used for:
DOCTRINE
REPROOF
CORRECTION
INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
So that the man of God may be fully competent and completely equiped for every good work.

How come you are not able to cohabit peacefully with your fellow religionists?

Same reason for every thing. God has given us Power of Choice.
Apparently your organization has taken your power of choice and is lording itself over you.
This should not be a bad thing if it is truly and sincerely in agreement with the God's Will.

What you're saying doesn't make any sense because the title GOD connotes SUPREME BEING which means if individuals from different geographical locations on this planet agree to worship the same God they should be able to think alike {John 17:22} that's what worship in spirit and truth means! What happened at the Tower of Babel?
Man can also gather together in one mind to work against God's will.

Which is why God Himself caused the discord among humanity y confusing our language Gen11.
Because there is the tendency for man's will to go against His will.

You've spoken well.
Just as RCCG submits and agrees to the leadership of Pastor Adeboye.
Christ Embassy (Love world) to Pastor Chris.
MFM to Pastor DK Olukoya etc.

So the difference here is that while you make use of a different bi le you all submit to, they all make use of the same Holy Bible and according to the revelation they received.

So I believe everyone is fulfilling their calling according to God's will. Some may have walked in error, some may walk in Truth but as long as the gospel is being propagated, the Holy Spirit knows how he will bring everyone that is of Him to Maturity and Unity of Fath.

Eph.4.13 - till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
