A British Royal Navy warship, HMS Trent, has arrived in Lagos.

The warship is visiting Nigeria for the second time as part of its West Africa regional mission to aid British allies and partners to combat piracy, trafficking and other illegal activities.

The British High Commission, through its Senior Press and Public Affairs Officer, Ndidiamaka Eze, said that the visit would help deliver capacity training and support maritime security in the region.

According to Eze, the warship is in Nigeria solely to assist West African countries to develop capability to fight illegal crimes.

British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, Jonny Baxter, said: “This deployment demonstrates how a truly Global Britain is stepping up on the world stage to tackle shared international security challenges.

”Nigeria is an important and valued defence partner for the UK in West Africa. Our two countries face many shared threats and we are keen to work with Nigeria to defeat these and to help improve maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.”

Lol. They didn't come without strategic reasons.

They are here as a sign of the side they choose between Nigeria and Niger

And to warn off Wagner of the threat they will be fighting against should they align with Niger in battle against Nigeria and ECOWAS.

You won't see any security analyst anywhere in the world bring this crucial secret information out. I leaked it first.

They're here to reassure battle readyness should there be distablization in the region that may be triggered by ECOWAS/Nigeria vs Niger war
