Funny thing is I was listening to one of his songs that came up on my random playlist yesterday morning and the first thing that came to mind was his affair with Naira Marley after the NDLEA incident where he claimed Naira Marley was after him, in my mind I just put his actions then down to lack of good advice on navigating complex relationship and just took my mind off it and kept driving only to find out this evening he passed on.

Nigerians need to start certifying from a QUALIFIED medical Doctor at a HOSPITAL that a person has ACTUALLY DIED before rushing to bring out their camera and making a video of the supposedly dead person and rushing to post it on social media.

Some people have been proclaimed dead on social media only for them not to have died afterall - the nollywood actress Iyabo Oko was claimed to have died by her daughter and Foluke Daramola before it was later found out that she had not died (although she later died many months later).

Some people have been known to wake up right inside the coffin.

From the video I saw on Youtube (see below) of an unresponsive Mohbad lying across his crying brothers lap in a car and the brother crying that "Mohbad is dead", that to me is not of itself conclusive proof that Mohbad is dead as the brother is not a medical doctor and actually, it seemed to me that Mohbad's neck region actually moved in the video.

What if Mohbad was in a coma induced by his drug intake seeing that Forty percent of comatose states result from drug poisoning. ??

A coma is a deep state of prolonged unconsciousness in which a person cannot be awakened, fails to respond normally to painful stimuli, light, or sound, lacks a normal wake-sleep cycle and does not initiate voluntary actions. May the troubled young lad Rest in Peace IF in truth he is really dead BUT Nigerians need to treat the dead with dignity and respect and respect the rights and privacy of the dead and not rush to be the first to post the news of death and/or pictures of the dead body on social media just to chase clout and views.

The rush to post pictures of the dead body on social media happened in the cases of Sam Loco Efe, Baba Suwe, Iyabo Oko and now Mohbad ( IF confirmed) is really troubling and has no place in the 21st Century.

The music and entertainment industry is a very complex, dangerous and pathetic industry, it has always been so and even with YouTube and other streaming platforms the freedom artists desire doesn't seem to have manifested.

Artists management and distribution contracts still seem to be weighted so heavily against the artists especially those who are coming out of relative poverty or desperation to get into the industry, those who have a sharp rise and see very rapid growth can get quickly frustrated.

Apparently the misunderstanding between Mohbad and Naira Marley came out of a desire to change artists manager, which is rather odd I think an artist should be able to appoint a manager within the terms of his contract, the record label shouldn't be insistent on employing a manager for an artist against the choice of the artists.

Evidently the record label which had some pull within the niche was able to blacklist as he confessed in a recent interview which would have only caused him much despair and lead to his depression as spoken of.
