Obasanjo was not insulting but correcting reality on ground based on constitution of Nigeria. Who doesn't know that governor and president are superior to ceremonial obas? Obasanjo has paid his due many times prostrating publicly for Kings, attitude of some of the kings may really be responsible for pushing Obasanjo on that public outburst

The point is the Political structure is way superior to the traditional institutions and what has made it worse is that the traditional leaders have dined and wined with the politicians, they have also collected money from politicians So politicians have seen them finish except for some exceptions like late alaafin of oyo or Oba of Benin who didn't allow any politician to disrespect the office of the traditional institutions.the rest are just glorified errand boys of governors
