If the EU didn't force apple to start making iPhone compatible with the USB-C model, I don't think apple will be willing to migrate to this model. Just that they'll loose lots of customer base in the EU which isn't worth it for them.

Apple was already planning to switch to USB-C in its new iPhones before the EU forced them to do so.
They already adopted USB-C in some of their products, such as the iPad Pro and the Mac laptops. This shows that they are aware of the benefits and popularity of USB-C.
Plus, they have reportedly been testing USB-C for iPhones since 2019, and filed patents for USB-C connectors and cables for iPhones.

So, it's not true that Apple would not be willing to migrate to USB-C if the EU didn't force them to. It's more likely that Apple was already considering or intending to migrate to USB-C, and the EU regulation just accelerated or confirmed their decision.

Samsungs been using type C port since AD, why do iphone ipeeps see this as a major brakethrough worth celebrating

them fit forget for house or car or anywhere the other day I misplaced my wallet containing my ATM card , important business cards ..money, phone became automatically helpless not that I didn't av the means to walk up to a store to buy another one but how I wan pay at that moment.

The EU and others are trying to avoid what we call electronic waste... so when you have an android phone and an apple phone you don't need to have 2 chargers for them that's why they came up with this policy... all mobile devices will be using type C charger now

I taya for ipeeps, maybe next year when apple bring fast charging, they will be jumping up rejoicing when android phone can charge a 5000mah in under 10mins
