Of course she must have been told about it vividly by elderly ones around and be able to relate it with little knowledge she might have of him too. Rightly or wrongly such an experience shapes the way she will view things..

You are very correct.
Everything this days na to catch cruise.

What is "poverty demented"?
You want to be an advocate but you can't even put your comma and fullstop in the right places. How old are you?

It's not a competition of who abokí has dealt with the most ogbeni. The igbos know exactly what the north is because the igbos remember. Yoruba on the other hand will forgive and forget any injury by the north if it helps them get one over igbos

I am not commenting with a view to gloating either.

Just a simple reminder.

Good day.

I don't believe a two year old is capable of remembering anything like that at that tender age.

I will argue with you on this

I remembered telling my mum, mummy, there was a day Uncle (name withheld) mistakenly cut his hands and there was blood all over, he even had to soak his hands in a bucket of water to stop the blood, the water was filled with blood.

My mum looked at me with shock and told me that I was just two years old, how was it possible for me to remember that! and I still remember that day, I was putting on a white pinafore.

Yes this happened in Okota area and I remembered vividly…General Akpata was no nonsense man who always ready to deal with armed robbers terrorizing the area but what happened that night was a surprise cuz nobody dear him.

But from sources we were told he was killed by armed robbers who believed he was disturbing them for terrorizing neighborhoods despite not disturbing him anytime they came for night operations.

You did not read with understanding.
He said that he missed the father figure. That means that even though his father left plenty of wealth, his education and future were secure, he missed his father. No one could fill in the gap and that was a very big pain.

Losing parents at very tender ages can be very costly and painful. Family members want to take as much as they can financially to run their own homes, abandoning the children of the deceased. It is very sad indeed.

That's life for you.
Never knew that was her dad.
Apata Memorial school is well known in Isolo.
Great school then, don't know if they still maintain standard.

He was killed by armed robbers who have been terrorizing the Estate in Isolo.

They came for him (Teni's father) simply bcoz they knew him to be a retired General who they felt had not allowed them to operate freely in the Estate.

They also said he mobilized the Estate security and they said he equipped them with guns to challenge the robbers.

So, when the robbers came, the Estate security outfit engaged them together with the General himself and some robbers were killed while some fled.

The next time the robbers came was like a large gatherings of conglomerate of robbers purposely to kill one person, and that was how he was killed.

There was also Major Emmanuel, who owned Emmalson motors at Ijesha bus stop. He was very brave and kept those evil fellows away from his home and area at Alidada.

Apata and Godwin Omonuwa controlled properties in Okota and Ire Akari estate. The school actually was and is located still in Ire Akari estate. A very peaceful area, but badly terrorized by armed robbers from Ijesha and Ejigbo areas in the 90s and early 2000s.

Abacha really dealt with Yorubas. I wonder what they would have said if Abacha was Igbo.
Abacha wasn't the one that killed him. He was killed by thieves that were always terrorizing the area then. They came solely to come take him out cos he was always hindering them from having their way. He used to have guns in his house, always ready for the thieves, single handedly taking them out. So the theives restrategized and came for him. It really was a sad one. He protected the area in the little way he could then. Na correct man!

Yeah as someone mentioned earlier, the father was stopping armed robbery in the area and he had a gun which he used to kill them. He became so popular for his exploits. But the armed robbers came for him alone one night so I heard to stop him and they succeeded. So sad. Armed robbery then was crazy and they were unstoppable. Nigerian police then was…… the only reason the police did not arrest her dad was because of his background. Back then kill armed robber and police will arrest you or claim credit

So sad. Why the man come dey run one man mopol operation. A Brig Gen should av soldiers posted to his abode.

He had a school name Apata memorial college Okota.
Mr Apata is one of the pioneer of private schools in Nigeria.
