Hi gurus in the house.

I have a Benz 190 lying idle for the past 5 years and I am thinking of swapping the engine with a Volvo 2.5 engine.

I want to know if this is a good idea as I find Volvo cars more reliable.

My dear this surgery no make sense at all, get a Benz engine or sell the Benz and buy a volvo

The engine is very much intact. Just came across a YouTube video where a bmw engine was swapped for that of Volvo. Was wondering if same could be carried out on a benz

New engine
Ecu
Wiring harness
New mounts weld
Some electronic might stop working
Stress too much for me I don't think it's worth it.

Can it be done? Probably yes

Can it be done by our people here in Naija? Probably No

In the event it's actually doable to perfection, are you willing to finance it to that perfection? Probably No

I think you should use your car "as is", if you love a Volvo so much, just get one 👍🏾

Instead of that rubbish you want to attempt, get a 2.5 i6 corsworth engine for that 190E.

It won't easily fit in that bay. He can do a M104 l6 3.2 or 3.4 AMG engine. These are easier and won't cause a whole lot of issues or require serious electrical works.

That kind of surgery is very risky o. Why not get a tokunbo engine of that car and fix if you still want to enjoy the car? Better still, sell it off, there are people that will appreciate this car better than you.
