oakenfold:Thank you, Sir. When she denied the existence of systemic racism and used White Supremest buzzwords like leftist, I knew that any attempt at discourse with her would be a total waste of energy. That’s what happens when people try appearing smart by repeating things said by people they think are smart instead of reading a damned book or learning a damned fact. They more they talk, the more they show how little they know. |

IjeBos:I get your point. But Racism is unsolvable if the stereotypes associated with Black people persist, people have been racist towards me - certainly; but have the government in the United States been oppressive towards black folks- I don't think so. The issue of affirmative action that made black folks get into universities easier than Asians who merited it is a perfect idea of systemic racism but we don't have to talk about that. No matter how we see it - stereotypes are very important; the Polish government in 2007 enacted a law that made it extremely difficult for Black people to come into the country due to the fact that the news of black folks in Dallas who traveled to Finland to kill a gang member caught their attention. Nigerians are temporarily banned to travel to the UAE because of the trespassing of more than six Nigerian citizens who came there to kill a rival gang member(s) There's even more racism towards our blackselves; a friend of mine in Arkansas opened a flowery which succeeded but was shunned by black folks because it was too expensive to run by a black woman; black people kill more black people everyday; We see black children on Tiktok acting like they're gang members, this things affect the psyche of other races when they see all this; it isn't right to generalise - that's true but shit happens. Gangs and drugs is even considered cool and 'black culture' by black people, it should be avoided. It's crazy for Africans not to support black Americans in there fight but black Americans also have to find ways to change what is deemed their culture since it affects good black people everywhere too. Another challenge with black people is conversations - most white people are just so afraid to talk about race with black people so they won't be deemed racists |

1stGenAmerican:What other blacks are you referring to if I may ask? Maybe family members or other close associates because last I remembered Black Americans/Black British discriminate Africans and are rude to them using slangs like "freshie", "fresh off the boat" and are rude in their interactions with them. They don't miss an opportunity to display their dislike of Africans. So I wonder? This is aside the the topic of discussion but just pointing that out. |
| Re: Nigerians Abroad. Share Your Experience With Racism And Discrimination by Raalsalghul: 8:36am On Sep 22, 2023 |
ErenXSatoru:Nothing crazy about Africans not supporting Black Americans. You can't support folks who see themselves better than you, rude towards you, make fun of your accents and calls you slangs like "freshie." As an African in these countries, focus on your hustle and what you intend to achieve. Citizens of these said countries whether white or black don't like you. Period! |

Raalsalghul:The koko of it all. The belief that everyone should like everyone does not exist. I recall Tensa20 told me about a popular Facebook group for black folks in tech. Guess what? The African Americans don't share job invites with black Africans. But the group was created by an African (I think Nigerian. Tnesa20 has to confirm this). The same African Americans from what I read on Twitter would do anything to prevent blacks Africans access to the US, but befriend other races, who don't even like black people at all, and don't care to differentiate blacks based on nationality or ancestry. BTW, the reason Liberia had its civil war was because the returnee African Americans subdued the native Liberian population and impoverished them in their land. So much for black solidarity. If to say we even get one black dominated country like South Korea and Germany, e for better. Imagine arguing about racism when na we poor pass other races? ![]() |

Gerrard59:The bolded is what is most annoying. The fact that we don't have a rich sane black dominated country. Sometimes I wonder if we would ever get a rich sane black dominated country because my country Nigeria doesn't seem to know what she is doing. |

amazingspiderma:Yes, there are many Nigerians of different tribes living in various places in Nigeria. Everyone has access to good education, no school will discriminate against you because of your tribe. No No bank will discriminate against you because of your tribe. You can live in anywhere in Nigeria. You are free to attend any religious gathering. No hospital will discriminate against you because of your tribe No patient will discriminate against you because of your tribe You will get the same job opportunities in Nigeria especially when you live in big cities. You can open a business anywhere No business will reject you because of your tribe Many Nigerians issue isnt tribalism but lack of opportunities due to the few available opportunities in the country. |

ErenXSatoru:Africam Americans have a powerful spending power than the whole of africa. There are lot of elite black neighborhoods, universities, businesses and fraternities in America. What you dont realise is this african Americans are more respected outside of America than Africans. The main focus should be on Africa, when Nigeria ( the most populous black country in the world) develops and also controls its own information through the mass media, we will get respected. The only currency for respect the majority of the world understands is money. |

CandidAdmin:Nigerians must remember south africa as a living house of discrimination. one colleague at work threaten my life thinking he will go scot free matter is now in the court. He has done many things to make me unwelcome, uncomfortable and disenfranchised through constant harassment, intimidation, shaming and xenophobic behaviour for almost 10 years of his being with us. In the government sector, where i work there are thousands of workers. I am the only Nigerian but one is too much for them as they work harder than their work to want to rid me of the job. Its a shame that Nigerians welcome these vagabonds and even encourage them when they come to us but they cannot reciprocate a single gesture. Every Nigerian has one problem or another from these wicked people. although some of them are good but very rare breeds. |

A white patient I supported to use the toilet on reaching there saw the cover of the toilet sit was black hmmm he refused to sit on it because of the color that it's my toilet and not his because of the color of the sit cover. That's the only thing close to that I have experienced. Aside from that I haven't experienced anything close to that in 🇬🇧. |

MatrixCircle:Quite ridiculous, I am sure your patient is not pressed yet, if he or she is well pressed he or she won't think twice before sitting on the toilet with black cover ![]() |

ErenXSatoru:I think you're doing a lot of stereotyping yourself. Do you see tik top videos of white children fighting? Have you ever watched a hockey game? The WWE? What's the difference. Let's revisit hockey for a sec. In hockey, fighting is part of the game. They allow players to literally pummel themselves. Do you hear anything about the players being angry or not being able to control themselves? Now imagine if they were black and/or that type of thing happened in a basketball game? Probably brushing up on your up on African American history would help some. |

1stGenAmerican:Thanks. Took an African American history class as an elective senior year. It changed my perspective, especially the dates. You would think all the segregation happened such a long time ago. Just realizing that there are people still alive who couldn't sit at the same counters, drink from the same fountains or go to the same schools as white people puts everything in perspective. |
