My little knowledge of that area is that most of Aba is in a depression. There are no natural water courses, no channels for storm-water to flow by gravity. I think during the last regime there was a geo study on this and it was recommended that sub-surface flood tunnels be created. That will be a massive engineering undertaking.

We are not even accountable for our actions as a group of people and you expect the politicians to take us serious.

How fast the flood disappears shows the lot of work that have been put in place to control flooding.

Anambra is about 388m above sea level and should have little to no business with flooding.

If there is a problem arising from the project, then they should deliberate on the solutions. Aba is a hustling city and people will tend to erect structures indiscriminately, even across obvious water ways. The government need to revisit the city plan and take out structures not erected in allocated spaces, then construct drainages and deep trenches. Monthly sanitation must be enforced and perpetrators of improper waste disposal dealt with. Some demons actually empty their wastes into drainage once it's raining. Saw that alot in Benin. Very animalistic behaviour

When you go to school to study civil engineering and after you finish your training you don't know how to construct a good road for your country that is a big shame. And the government not willing to go for quality but only quantity. It's commendable that it's concrete road but there supposed to be drainage on both sides to avert erosion and flooding.
