How would you handle this situation….my neighbour was having her birthday party which she invited a couple of people, I didn’t know it was her birthday until I saw cars parked in front of our house. Now she sent her daughter to bring food for me and the kids, I feel like if she doesn’t want me to be aware of her birthday why would she bring me food.
Ps: I thought we were cool before now. I am lost at what could be the reason for her acting that way!! I would appreciate everyone’s insight.

She doesn’t want you to attend her birthday party but she still found a way to send you food through her own daughter…why don’t you just appreciate her kind gesture and ask her daughter to thank her mum on your behalf and then wait until the next day when she’s free to say than you in person and end it there?
It’s good to know your place in people’s life and act accordingly.
You are her neighbor,not her friend and for the fact that she sent you food through her daughter shows that she respects you but she doesn’t want you in her circle ⭕️….which is fine by me.

You can throw away the food (that’s what I do cos I don’t trust people easily),wash the containers (that’s if they are not disposable),return them to her towards evening when she’s at home relaxing,thank her for the food and congratulate her.Make sure you keep it short and move on.
You should learn to know your place in peoples lives and act accordingly.Don’t act like she owes you any explanation cos she doesn’t.
From here onwards,keep her at arms length but don’t keep malice with her…that’s childish.

I would pay to not be invited even, and still give a present😭
