komekn:I was mad at him when he moved to the Turkish newly promoted team which made me take my eyes off him but his performance since the start of the season hv been jaw dropping The move is gradually paying off for him and if he continue putting out decent numbers and performances he won’t stay long with the club I think this season so far he is Nigeria’s highest goal scoring midfielder |

Football statistics website Whoscored.com has selected its Team of the Week for the latest round of fixtures in the Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1, with two Super Eagles players recognized for their outstanding performances. Ademola Lookman has been included in the Serie A and Moses Simon in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week after finding the net against Cagliari and FC Lorient respectively. Lookman broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute when he prodded into an empty net after De Ketelaere burst down the right and rolled the ball across to the Nigeria international. The 25-year-old has now scored in back-to-back games in the Italian Serie A for the first time since January 2023. Lookman registered a game-high three shots against Cagliari with two on target, completed the most dribbles with four, made two key passes, won one foul for his team and was accurate in 79.5 percent of his passes. Simon scored and registered a brace of assists in Nantes' entertaining 5-3 win against Lorient at the Stade de la Beaujoire. He assisted the goals scored by Matthis Abline and Florent Mollet, before turning from provider to finisher in second half stoppage time. Simon finished with a game-high three key passes, registered three shots plus one dribble and won one foul While Lookman was rated at 8.32, Smon had 8.2 and occupied the left side of midfield in a 3-4-3 formation. |

Orban playing in Belgium will work agaisnt him even if he score more hartricks. The other forwards are in the top leagues and are doing it. do4luv14: |

I don’t know how many wingers JP plans to take, but our best wingers are clearly Lookman, Chukwueze and Moses. I wouldn’t take more than 3 with versatile Osayi-Samuel in the mix. |

Moses Simon seems to have sat up. That’s what you get when there is competition in SE. |

charlesemeka85:Why nobody is talking about the Man of the Match 'Onuachu'? His substitution allowed Fisayo team to stage a comeback! The same Onuachu that couldn't make it in the Championship. So going by Komekn logic, turkey league na farmers league! |

Marjoribanks:I no really fancy Turkish league, I only rate the top 3 clubs which are galatasaray, fenebache and besiktas to a certain extend but with fisayo’s numbers and performances since he moved to Hatayspor from English league 1 he shouldn’t be ignored If we can follow the progress of Nwakali playing in Chaves we can as well do same to Fisayo who is even better with regards to being his first stint in top tier football. If Nwakali was the one with such performances and goal contribution here for don catch fire 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am not saying he should be invited to the super eagles asap but needs to be closely monitored by jpes for the future. For sure if he continues with his superb form better clubs in the league and outside of Turkey will queue up to sign him |

daveP:You can see that they are working on it. Give it time. Not everything condemn condemn. Lagos is making giant stride in infrastructure upgrade. It was the former minister that consection it to Baba Ijebu. At least the pitch and track is looking good. The new minister is looking at the best way to upgrade the stands. He even proposed to demolish it and build a new stand which will be cool. One thing is certain that stadium will come back to life. However for me, I don't like the location of the stadium. Our players get booed whenever they are not winning. I don't know if things might change with this generation of football lovers sha! Nevertheless I prefer Uyo. Those guys always stand with the team no matter what! |

Can't believe I am thumbing up a Komekn post for the first time in over 15k pages. This is a rarity. But he speaks truly ON THIS alone and even asks an important question which I have asked myself but never in here. Would Ndidi's new advanced role under Enzo Maresca translate well when the level of competition shifts from the Championship to the EPL? Time will tell. komekn: |

On Osimhen's poor weekend outing.... Victor Osimhen... The Monster Machine, I named him. But over the weekend, he messed up. He blew it. The one chance to get your team 3 pts and you blow it especially seeing how the team has been labouring through every game. You miss 2 big chances including a PK. And then you disrespect your coach? Naah, he should be doing better.... Pushing himself harder and Should hold things together now especially after the SuperStardom he hit last season. He is Nigeria's pride in attack but he should watch it coz we have many other treasures there as well (Boniface, Orban, Awoniyi, Moffi, etc). He hasn't led us through an Afcon tournament before and CIV 2024 will be his first full tournament as Nigeria's Main Talisman and we would not want him losing his cool like this or blowing chances from the spot when he should be delivering the goods especially when it is most needed. Osimhen has to understand the balance of calm and passion to enter into his next level of Greatness. It's not eureka yet for Africa's APOTY-in-waiting. |

charlesemeka85:Not enough! He should be sent to the reserve even if he apologized publicly. If it's Mourinho that would be his last game for Napoli! |

TheSuperNerd:I understand your point nevertheless Osimhen did not blew any clear cut chance. In fact he hardly get any and had to work really hard for one or two unlike his pairs at Barca, City, Bayern etc. The one he struck the post with was even a half chance yet he was able to hit the target. Also, the penalty was good, sent the keeper the wrong way but just unfortunate. He works too hard for a striker of his talent. He presses, runs, marks, defends yet he hardly gets clear cut chances. It can be frustrating! |

charlesemeka85:No opportunity to even turn. The defending is better now that playmakers can't even perform as they used to. Finito |

Does frustration justify losing it in battle? When it also gets frustrating in CIV, he would need his cool more than anything else because he is the guy the team will look to in tough times. Osimhen has to understand he is a leader now. And what is a penalty if not a clear cut chance? Marjoribanks: |

I know that. I am emphasising it because this isn't the first or second time. Would he keep apologising for the same thing when he loses his cool? He has to get it together as the Super star he is now. charlesemeka85: |

Marjoribanks:Marjori,I noticed you do compares Osimhen with Barca,City,Bayern CFs in terms of chances created….are you saying Haaland,Lewandowski and Kane are not doing anything on the field. The best chance to be given to a player is penalty but he lost it.Sincerely too early to say Osimhen is on goal drought. He need to calm down when things are not going his way. |

typicalgamer:TheSuperNerd and Kokmne have said it all. Ndidi I want is old Ndidi as DM who was rated as one of the best in EPL some season ago but if he can shake it upfront then good to have space for Onyedika or Onyeka. I will never rate Ndidi and Iheanacho in championship |
