Any governor/president who calls for prayers to fix a state or nation has no business governing or presiding. Better cede authority to those "god of men" and marabouts for the much desired prayers. 2 Likes |

It's unfortunate that things we can handle we resort to prayers. Government seems complicit in the recent spate of insecurity. They can fix it if they want in one month. For starters, insecurity means more budget for security. It also means more avenue for illegal mining and kidnap for ransom. Finally insecurity can never encourage foreign investment into the country. Tulumbu should stop wasting scarce resources traveling and trying to convince investors. |

Praying to God after they swore in a man we knew had all the skeleton in his cupboard, instead of waiting for the PEPT and the Supreme Court to rule on the election. What a generation of crooks. God doesn't hear the prayers of crooks.

And they carried on deceiving the people. A governor who has the power to turn things around in his state is shying away from that duty but instead asking the people to pray for the state and Nigeria at large. Such hypocrisy! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Waffarianman: Praying for a nation whose political leaders feed fat by clutching tight on the lopsided and fraudulent political structure of 20 states in ONE region but 17 states in TWO regions, as decreed by northern military dictators between 1967-1996 to favour the northern region; a political structure which made the northern side largely decide who becomes president of the nation, and thus throws up the worst of apex political leadership for the nation at every presidential election. Prayers never to be heard until the political structure is changed in a Sovereign National Conference. In a federation formed by different regions, land mass or population figures is never used as yardstick to create new federating units like states or local government areas. |

Re: Osun Government Cancels Independence Day Celebrations by discusant: 9:52am On Sep 30, 2023 |
In other countries formed by different regions, when embarking on creating new federating units, like states or local government councils, the creators must have in mind to retain the existing political power balance between the regions that formed the federation, by the time they finish creating the new federating units; but Nigeria's Northern military dictators who created the 36 states and Abuja structure never put this into consideration. The 20 states and hundreds of local government areas proliferated like seeds in the northern region stripped too much political and economic powers from the two southern regions, but added excessive political and economic powers to the northern region. Change the fraudulent political structure in a Sovereign National Conference - never in the National Assembly - if Nigeria must progress. |

Hohohohoho... The usual ruse.... They won't ever call for working together... As you close your eyes to pray, "snakes and rats" will swallow funds supposedly meant for productive work. Continue praying while others are working. Even your Holy book warned that faith without works is totally futile. So before you start praying, make sure you're ready to put in the work required. Why bother praying when you don't want to work and make sacrifices? Seems silly to this daddy. Such prayers is just a total waste of time .. Manna wey fall from heaven sef, no dey fall enter belle, na you go still go pack and preserve am. But.,. Oh, these wereys always don't remember this part of their so-called chosen belief system, after all, it won't profit them to remember it. Imagine calling for prayers when you'd still pocket every osusu that enters State:s wallet... Smh |
