for institutions that generate a lot of paper there is something called a document retention and disposal policy. no business will hold on to hard copy documents indefinitely as storage comes with a cost

so if i make a request for a document and for whatever reason am unable to collect it after a period the document will be thrashed.

I'm just wondering why he didn't just pick a certificate he requested for and save us all the drama.

Can you make any sense of it? You went to school, graduated, had reasons to request for your certificate from the school, the school issued it, then you didn't pick it only for you to submit another that will always raise questions about it's integrity.

If as a UNILAG graduate,will you forge a replica of your certificate just because you find it boring to travel from your state to Lagos to get itand what do you think will be the outcome if your employer find out after 3 months thru careful cross examination..

Mind you in all of these,you claime that you collected d submitted certs from UNiLAG during interview..

Forgery is divergent,it ranges from replica of what you have already to an outright printing from imagination...
