The 45m is enough. The issue will be around the explanation of the pof and its supporting docs. Nothing much.

Ok, thanks for your input. Do you think it’s necessary to request for gmc for clarification?

Me I don't even know what to do. I send a msg to vfs and they respond that my biometric has been transmitted to ircc in real time. So I don't know why am not getting update on my portal.

Same with me ooo. Tomorrow will make it one week.
Some did it and it reflected that day.

Hi Guys,

For those who have landed, did you show your funds to the CBSA officer in naira or did you have to convert to fx?

As a spouse of an international student, can I provide my canada job offer/annual salary as addition pof or not reveal it to the officer at all?

What are the other possible questions one can be asked by these officers.

Thanks in advance!

Good morning gurus, Please I need some assistance. while filling the Educational Cost (Study Permit) section what should be in the part where they ask for "Funds available for stay in Canada"?

My program is a 2 year program which costs CAD 17k/year. I just want to be sure I am filling in the right information.

Note: Sponsored by Father. Tuition Deposit of 9300 has been paid.
Thank you!

Good day everyone. My husband and I wants to travel to Canada through the study route however my husband was refused a visitor’s visa to Canada in 2016. The application was done by an agent and he filled that he was married with a child, which is not true. We got married in 2020 and we’ve both travelled to the uk and we’re back to Nigeria. Now we know if we submit anything contrary to what he submitted earlier, it will be termed misrepresentation but we want to be truthful in this application otherwise we will be adding more lies which I do not want. We have ordered his “entire file “gcms notes already but it’s not out yet. Has anyone been in this situation? Please I need suggestions on how to handle it.

It's a tricky situation.

You should await the GCMS note. Hopefully, it doesn't cite misrepresentation.

If it's not that, regrettably, you may have to maintain the initial claim, or you risk facing a misrepresentation ban. Convincing a visa officer about an error in marriage status or the number of children will be challenging.

But let's hear from other people here.

Good day everyone,

Have gotten approval for MPower loan( awaiting disbursement upon submission of study visa), my concern is the amount to be repaid which is more than double the approved amount spread across ten years.

My reason for applying for the loan in the first place is, instead of stressing to source for 22,000cad for tuition fee, while not let MPower take care of the tuition then I work to pay back in installments while also using it to build credit scores but I read somewhere that it is not worth it, that it kind of like enslaving oneself; that it is better to source for the funds( abeg with this our currency devaluation every minute, money wey de bank de loss value every day, complete POF way I gather to use build account since June no reach anything again when I wan use am now)

Please I need your genuine opinion, advice and criticism on this before I get myself deeply rooted in it.
@Zubizareta,@JMG12,@Bobomaigida,@Damilare5882 and everyone in Maple land come put mouth for this o.

Sorry for the long post

Your decision will depend on your financial health. If you have other sources to raise the funds then go that rather than the loan. If you do not have other sources, then you have to go for the loan.
The truth is that Mpower loan is expensive but it sometimes the only loan available to international students that do not have a cosigner. You can start with them to pay pending tuition and subsequently pay them off after some time in Canada after you have built credit score with local banks to secure affordable loan with longer tenors.

You already know that the course will not fly, it does not relate to your career nor your first degree. Look for courses that align to your profession.

1. The primary applicant will use their own profile to apply for the partner. There is a place where they will be asked if they are travelling with a family member, that's where she will add the partner.
2. You need a strong SOP with proof of the relationship to stand a chance of approval. Their POF must be easily proved and where you have lump sums, they must be explained with documentary evidence.
