To people that are privy to Boniface, was the guy an attacking midfielder prior to becoming a striker? Because I have analyzed his game style and he plays more like an attacking midfielder than a pure 9. He has a good football IQ, intelligent, skillful, creative but his finishing isn’t superb. I am saying this because “wetin we Dey find for sokoto Dey our sokoto”

This is from allnigeriasoccer.com culled from bauern leverkusen website

'I used to play in midfield' - Bayer Leverkusen star Boniface explains why he's not the classic striker
Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface has explained why he is not the classic striker who is just expected to put himself in dangerous positions to score goals.

The 22-year-old announced how prolific he is last season when he emerged as the joint top-scorer in the UEFA Europa League alongside Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford.

He has also continued that form with Bayer Leverkusen this term, scoring 6 goals in his first 6 games in the Bundesliga, thereby locking horns with Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, Serhou Guirassy and Jonas Wind for the top scorer in the German top-flight so far.

When asked about the kind of striker he is, Boniface said that his style is more than that of a normal goalscorer by referring to the position he used to play before becoming a striker.

"Exactly. There are lots of classic strikers. They wait for their moment in the penalty area. But then it can happen that they don't touch the ball for ten minutes," Boniface said to Bayer Leverkusen's official website.

"I don't like that. I want to play differently, create chances and not just finish them. I like dropping back to take part in the build-up and I like pulling opposition defenders towards me and thereby creating space for my teammates.

"A bit of this style is in my nature. I used to play in midfield and increasingly took part in build-up play. I often watch videos of tricky and intelligent players to develop my game in that way to be able to help the team even more."

Statistically, Boniface is right in his admissions when we take a look at his assist tally since his arrival in Europe.

He managed, 8 assists for FK Bodø/Glimt in 66 appearances, 12 for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in 51 games and has recorded 3 so far for Bayer Leverkusen, which is impressive for a striker.

I will say this. You should expect any forward to miss chances. In fact even the best forwards do as much as they score. That’s why you need a an unlimited supply of key passes. Creators are necessary for some goals to be buried.

Boniface is also a creator. That’s why he is very important to SE. You need crosses, long passes, and effective dribbles. That’s the dynamism you need for finishers to thrive.

Real Madrid,Arsenal and Chelsea should go all out for Boniface next summer. I believe with 50m-70m euros Bayer 04 will sell

when compared to all our strikers currently he is the most complete

All he need is to work on his finishing and he will be up there with the very best

The EPL is the best league in Europe fact.

Portuguese league is rated number 7 in Europe but somehow in your appraisal Chavez is better than Luton and Burnley.

Do you think that's reasonable 🤔
Being the best doesn't erase the fact that some teams are crap like luton. EPL being the best league doesn't stop arsenal from losing to nice of France.

So a major part of your football knowledge all this time in the Hector discourse was literally hanging on wiki references? Wow. You didnt even know one game he scored in. This was a waste of time indeed.

And yeah, you are at liberty to stand by whatever opinion you have be it fallacious or not. Enjoy the stance.

Kog45:
Pls better to call me out and I will say sorry for any mis information, sorry it was wiki references.

Yes based on my knowledge and opinion Hector Hernandez is Chaves best player and I stand by it.

Debate like this is exactly why Nwakali is getting continuously dragged here. How TF do people rate chance creator ahead of goal scorer?

It's one thing to have a dry spell, but this Napoli team is no longer a joy to watch. It's becoming a struggle watching this team play.

This Napoli match: what's the essence of having Osimhen as a point man when there's no supply? As soon as Napoli attacks, all the front men want to score.

Osimhen has just scored from his own hustle. Too bad

Like lovewins said Napoli are struggling. Players must be generous in their play towards each other. The moment players build small empires inside their minds in which they seek to hunt for glory, the team will lose its flow.

Yeah... That's why he drops into the midfield to participate too. Some killer passes upfront and this guy would score loads of goals for this club.

Snatched the ball away from Zielinski and slammed it into the back of the net. This is the Osimhen I know.

Exactly..like how is that logical?

The most important thing on the field are goals.. and the player who guarantee goals are very important for a team.

Haaland/ KDB is another example

Lol. The change of coach seems to be working a treat. They haven't lost ever since Jose Gomes made way for Tetriano Joao Moreno (mistakenly put as Luis Margado in the previous 2 games before yesterday).

Ofcos their unbeaten streak will end eventually but like you, I am pleased they are getting points on the board and out of last place.

One thing I will never do is lie to any fan or misanalyse the beautiful game because of what use will it be to give agenda takes and see your team suffer? This is why when I see a player with the quality I know my team needs, I won't stop harping about it even if no one listens or even if anyone misunderstands or misinterprets. Only small minds argue what they don't even take the time to deeply analyse like I have done.

Man City Missed Rodri today. If Rodri had played today, they won't lose. You can take that to the bank. What Rodri brings to a team is not just an assured midfield anchor but a deep lying maestro who will swing a game in his team's favour with his control and reading of the game.

Arsenal were good value for their win today but Man City without Rodri is bound to be exploited.

Rodri like Declan Rice is one of the top 3 CDMs in world football today. Case closed.

If the Napoli management had any ambition this season, they should sack their current coach after today's game !and probably bring in someone like Tuchel right now. With that they'd almost get a chance at clinching a trophy.
