I sometimes wonder why you guys put up everything online. What if the lady is here on Nairaland??

Anyway to the topic, I understand cos I usually feel same way about some street vendors too. Just politely tell her the truth. You'll always sleep better be plain.

So what? Did I post her picture or say anything bad about her?

If it won't adversely affect you except your preference for depots, please do consider her. She probably needs the patronage more.
Re: How Would You React To This Message? by Styluss: 4:53pm On Oct 09, 2023
Shes a genuine hustler and OP should just find a common ground, being a yahoo boy is not a reasonable basis not to patronise anyone doing their business

izzou:

Say what? That you don't buy gas from street vendors?

Instead of wasting your energy explaining, give her a reason to run away by herself.

It is the Entitlement mentality for me! She did not even beg you to buy from her. Rather, she's asking for an explanation.

A Ment case, if you ask me.

People have different ways of starting conversations, it's not really asking for explanation but making an enquiry. Market people ask direct questions that some times sound like allegations self. It's no big deal.

So, the one selling at depots are ingenuine hustlers?

The advantage in business is mostly pricing. A street vendor cannot compete with a depot. Infact, street vendors buy from the same depots too.

Make we no dey talk like say na wickedness.

"I can't patronise you because your price is high".

Don't hurt her feelings by saying it as it is. Times are hard and people are going through a lot. Be kind to her. Tell her you have a customer already that you've been patronizing for long. And first appreciate her hustle. This is no time for woman enough. Spread love pls. Thanks.

Just tell her you already have someone you buy from,it isn't a must to buy from someone even if that person happens to be your neighbour.

I am not surprised things like this can cause malice and grudge.
