Well, i can't really dispute your point. However, i had a different experience at Pearson Airport. Initially i booked my flight from Lagos to Amsterdam to Calgary(my destination). I avoided Pearson Airport as well. But as fate would have it, the day i was meant to travel, my flight from Amsterdam to Calgary was cancelled and rerouted to Toronto then Calgary. I had no choice but to fly that route. On landing at Pearson Airport, I summoned the courage to face the immigration officer. Our conversation went thus:
IM Officer: Can i have your passport
Me: I handed it to him
IM Officer: Why are you in Canada?
Me: I'm here to visit my family(Spouse & Child have PR)
IM Officer: Where are they?
Me: Calgary
IM Officer: 1st time in Canada?
Me: Yes
IM Officer: When are you leaving?
Me: In a month's time.
IM Officer: Do you have a return ticket?
Me: Yes
IM Officer: Can I see it?
Me: I showed it to him on my phone.
IM Officer: Welcome to Canada
Me: Thank you.
I left and went my way to board my connecting flight to Canada. Our discussion was about 3 mins and that was it. This was about 2weeks+. Just ensure you have necessary documents, cash to cover your stay just incase you are asked. Maybe mine was easy because i have my family here or it was God or both. Be prayerful as well. U can even change it for airport there
But since it's Canada u re going to, it's good to get their currency nah since it's what u re still going to spend there and not USD
Cos if u go with USD, u go still need change am to CAD wen u want to use it there

The caveat is that you can't pass through 2 European/Schengen countries without a Schengen visa but if your layover is just 1 country doesn't matter.e.g- if you'll travel with Air France with layover only at Paris then straight to Canada you're fine. But if the layovers are Amsterdam (1) and Paris (2) before Canada that's when you need a Schengen Visa.
(THIS DOESNT APPLY TO PEOPLE WITH VALID US OR AND CANADA VISA) AIRFRANCE has a tool to check..
Some people book return flights with free cancellation or at a decent cancellation fee, upon arrival they can cancel the 'fro' ticket.

My guy no vex abeg, I said I should help my people complaining there is no LMIA job, i want let them know that being in canada does not mean you are well informed.
If you fail to plan before leaving for canada, den you plan to fail.
Only those with the shortage skill occupation stand a chance of getting LMIA jobs
Truck driving in provinces
Farm labourers in Provinces

All dose I know got LMIA
5 weeks training in truck driving in Nigeria
2 months internship in truck driving in Nigeria with recommendation letter from driving school and internship job

They entered canada Nad went to Brampton, applied for CDL liecense and passed the test and got the liecense
The one dat did not pass went through the 1 month training in canada, a bit expensive and then passed the test.

The training school referred them to companies and they got LMIA jobs
Flagpole and got work permit

The good thing is that you can apply from PR after 2 years driving truck as a shortage skill occupation

And you do not need experience to be a truck driver in canada with the Canadian liecense, except you are Appling through express entry.

So for those shouting no LMIA, think about shortage skills and get trained.

Job full ground with LMIA, na u dey find soft work 😆

I don't know where your destination is in Canada. However, mine was Calgary. So I booked departure ticket 1st, Lagos to Amsterdam to Calgary but flight from Amsterdam to Calgary was cancelled and I was
rerouted from Amsterdam to Toronto to Calgary. Then a few days to my departure I booked my return ticket while I was still in Lagos. A few days after I got to Calgary I cancelled the return ticket and I was refunded. So, I'll book my return ticket when I'm close to leaving Canada. You can have one stop over in Europe. For example, if its KLM, 1 stop in Amsterdam and fly to Canada, USA but has to be outside Europe. Again, if it's Air France, you can only do 1 stop in Paris and fly out of Europe except you have transit visa/ Schengen visa. I hope this helps. Cheers
