The Scam That Is Carclare by Yohdarlng(m): 9:14am On Oct 15, 2023
Good morning everyone. I opened this thread to expose CARLCARE for the fraud they are.

I bought this phone (a tecno spark 9T) from one of my guys. He needed cash and I needed a phone. It's barely a year he purchased the phone (he got this device last year December) which means the device's warranty is still valid.

The device fell and the screen got damaged as the ink spilled across the screen he had assured me I could get a screen replacement since the warranty was still active which I had confirmed myself based the information on CARLCARE app.

This encouraged me to buy this device from him since I could get a screen replacement. On paying for the device, I visited a CARLCARE service centre to redeem this warranty where to my surprise I was been told that the device had fallen so it did not cover the warranty contrary to the information I got on their application.

I wrote their customer care and I was been told the same thing, I sent screenshots of their website as evidence to backup my claims, I wasn't the one that conjured this information, this information is clearly there in the website this wasn't enough as they said they didn't know anything about that.
This warranty was paid for upon purchase of this device CARLCARE has Defrauded me and countless of other Transsion phone users and something must be done about this.

This is atright abuse of legal rules, that guide the company, thereby making customers avoiding their products,

That your friend don chop you grin
Calcare Warranty does not cover damage inflicted by customer.
Your friend knows this

“This encouraged me to buy this device from him since I could get a screen replacement”

If They offered free screen replacement, your friend would have done it before selling the phone to you at a higher amount.

You are wrong bro,Nigerians general mix up warranty with guarantee.....Guarantee means free-of-charge replacement, whereas Warranty means replacement causing expenses to the customer.
if your device was struck with lightening, they would replace your phone without asking for any moneybut once you have a physical damage, damage that can be seen, you will pay for the part while the would fix the paid part for free.

I have been trying to upload those screenshots as prove to what I'm saying but unfortunately I've been running into trouble from Nairaland. Don't worry stick around, I'll keep trying. You'll see it with your naked eyes.

Op, hear this clear, the carlcare and any other tech company that promises after sale free service ain't talking about the hardware but software only, if the phone software malfunctions or unable to update or refuses to turn on because of software failure, they would fix it or give u a replacement, but breaking the screen and expect a replacement is asking for too much, no tech company can promise or warrantee you such.

The damage was clearly from your own end or from the customers end and not a factory defect, so, they aren't liable to fix it for you for free or give you a replacement.

Even if you got the phone and on stepping out of their complex or even within their complex, it slips and falls from your hand and the screen gets damaged, you're not liable for a replacement or fix, even if you were issued a warranty card. The only way you get a replacement or free fix is if it were a factory defect. Once the damage is from your end, you're on your own.

These are screenshots from their website as promised. I even had to check the validity of the warranty on their website and this is a hat I saw.

As you can see they (not me) said the warranty covers "accidental collision, fall, crushing, and squeezing "

I didn't say so myself, they did.

Broken screen card Is different from warranty
You pay for the broken screen card insurance separately, after buying the phone and they give you a card.
As long as he has the broken screen card and it has not expired, he can get the screen replaced.
But without the card, there's nothing they can do.
Insurance is different from warranty.
The broken screen card is insurance cause you pay extra for it and that's what you present to them at calcare, not phone warranty.
So they aren't going to replace the screen just cause you have warranty.
But they should, if your friend did pay and enroll for the broken screen insurance and has a valid broken screen card to present to them.

You can see it's clearly written there that if the phone Malfunctions within the warranty period, you get a fix. It didn't say if the phone is Damaged within the warranty period, you get a fix.

I showed them the broken screen card at their office as I was instructed to do. They still told me such a service does not exist.

As you can see the service is still valid.

Hmmm, I don't know how the card looks
But if its really this, I suggest you go to their head office at ikeja, as the one at your location may not be able to handle the request.
And if it's truly the main office you visited, then the broken screen card insurance is a scam then .

I don't live in Lagos, I took this to their main office in the city where I live.

I tried my first Tecno product around 2013 and since them i have advised anybody that works for their money to stay clear of it.

My brand new Techno phone of that year suddenly stopped displaying, I went to carlcare i was tossed left right and center. They said no replacement parts, next they devalued the phone by more than 60%, telling me that what the phone that didn’t last up to 4 weeks is worth now that, asking me if i want a new phone in that amount range…..

They were lucky it didn’t happened to my current self, I would have sued them, cashed iff and published a story about their substandard phones in the national dailies. I am super confident of my legal victory cuz I won’t have shortage of people to testify. The time I stepped into carlcare that year, see crowwwdddd and this product was just launched. Can you just imagine these fraudulent people.

Mehn i saw shege, DO NOT BUY TECHNO OR RELATED PRODUCTS

My idea of warranty is that if any error or malfunctioning or defect emanates from the phone, the warranty covers it, not that if you dropped the phone and it cracked the screen, that’s fault from you, so the company can’t take care of your own mistake or error

If this inking had happened internally without the phone dropping, the warranty can be demanded.

He be like your guy don score you 1 zero, he sold damaged phone to you

It's so sad what our country has turned to, where big establishments rip you off without fear of being punished by govt.
Try report them to consumer protection council and copy them (carlcare) in the complaint mail.

Re: The Scam That Is Carclare by Ogeneigbo1: 6:55pm On Oct 15, 2023
A lot of people here do not understand what OP is saying,

He is not talking about Warranty but a broken screen insurance in form of a card which his friend, the former owner of the phone purchased.

Please, people that know much about this particular card should throw more light on it here so that we all can understand and be guided appropriately.
