Lawn senate was such a rubber stamp senate that it was almost criminal to consider what they passed without deliberating on it as required by the constitution. All was to appease Buhari.

Sarki Senate was not 100% perfect, but it was the last Senate that came close to performing its constitutional role.

Saraki was the real reason why Buhari was well behaved in his first term. He checkmated this motherfucker so good that we didnt even know how much of a terrible person Buhari was.

Saraki and dem Dino kept him on his toes. At some point, he even cried out that the FG's friction with the National Assembly was what was "hampering our national growth", we nor know say na untold suffering dey come.

It was Saraki who stopped that bastard from altering the Freedom Of Information Bill, that's why we enjoy freedom of speech online till today! If he were to be the candidate of his party for the senate president,he wouldn't have given the Buhari administration any problem whatsoever. But because he wasn't. He planned a civilian coup sort of. He was in their black books and they needed to remove him at all cost and he also dealt with them by denying them of critical bills and what have you

However,this appellation of "rubber stamp senate" isn't fair. Sentiments apart. You see even in the US. As the Dems are in control of the Senate. No matter what Biden brings to them,they will sign it. That is why the ruling party always want to control the House and Senate so the Executive won't have any problem passing laws. But talking about the best senate president. I think the best is Anyim Pius Anyim. Dude stabilized the Senate president seat after, Late Evans Ewerem,Late Chuba Okadigbo, Adolphus Warbara were removed back to back.
