Supreme Court Reserves Judgment In Appeal By Atiku, PDP by Omooba77: 10:58am On Oct 23, 2023
The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in the appeal by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the September 6 judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) which affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the last presidential election.

A seven-member panel of the court, led by Justice John Okoro made the announcement after lawyers to parties adopted their briefs of argument and made final submissions.

The court also took arguments from lawyers to parties on the motion filed by the appellants to supply fresh evidence.

Appellants’ lawyer, Chris Uche (SAN) urged the court to grant the motion and allow their appeal, grant the prayers sought and disqualify Tinubu.

On their part, lawyers to the respondent’s – Abubakar Mahmoud, SAN (for the Independent National Electoral Commission), Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN (for Tinubu) and Chief Akin Olujinmi, SAN (for the All Progressives Congress) urged the court to dismiss both the motion and appeal for lacking in merit.

The court, which rose briefly, has now reconvened for the hearing of the appeal by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM

Tinubu is a global embarrassment to Nigeria. Supreme Court should do the needful and redeem whatever dignity and honour left of this country.

It's no brainer.

It will be sheer waste of time for the Supreme Court to spend more than 3 days on the case if you diligently go through the meticulous and brilliant Appeal Court judgement.

The Presidential Election Tribunal proved beyond all reasonable doubt that both defeated candidates are not serious and are wasting the time of the court.

The Supreme Court must fine them heavily this time around.

Just imagine a SAN paid millions by Alhaji Atiku now arguing in court that the Presidential elections case has no deadline and State Elections tribunal are the only ones the 180 deadline is meant for because the Presidential Election Tribunal is drawn from the Appeal Court. Soroniyen? How mediocre can petition, petitioner and his lawyer be?

You are on every thread making very senseless comments against the country. All the parties adopted their briefs today and you want the court to give judgement immediately without taking their time to study the original judgement and all the appeals, cross appeal and motion for new evidence.

Can’t you haters of Nigeria just keep your irrational opinion to yourself and allow the system to work as designed. Their lordships have reserved judgement and rightly so. They will give judgement before Nov 16 and justice will be done.

Can you please post a link where any court in the country ruled that there is a forgery against the President?
Also it is the right of the court and legal to reserve Judgement...

My sympathy goes to ignorant Obidients who thought emotional imagination, blackmailing and serious campaign against evidence will influence the court.

Where did you see forgery? You guys should relax and learn. How can you forged what you earn? Certificate forgery comes only in two ways 1. You didn't finish in the school that you hold their Certificate 2. You changed your grade upward e.g from 2: 2 to 2:1.

BBC, reporter wrote a report exonerating BAT , you guys reported him BBC came out and affirmed the report was valid that they called the CSU to confirm.
