That’s the normal thing to do na. What’s the essence of her picture being there after she’s late?

The man should have the picture of the dead wife in his heart and not on the wall.

Why get married when you are not ready to move on? Learn to stay single and alone and stop jumping into marriage so someone can keep you company. The person you are marrying is human too. If the situation was flipped how will you feel?

Who can compete with a dead person? The husband is not yet ready for marriage. What was the new wife looking at when he was proposing. So she de come that house with late wife picture all this time before marriage? Or they buy wife for this man?

The man needs to move on.

If you're not done with the late wife, don't marry a new one.

Lost my mom 7yrs ago and my Dad remarries after 4yrs but up till now my mom pictures is still in our living room and my step mother never for once asked any of us to remove my mom pictures..

I think the woman should respect boundaries why will she asked the husband to remove the late wife picture it so uncalled for

This question can not arrise because they are in the man's house. Men hardly stay in widows late husband's house. The late husband family no go allow such a thing self.

Why was this never discussed or brought up before marriage? No woman will want to keep staring at the late wife as if she is a sidechick. Husband can honor the wife in many ways but not putting her pics on the Wall...clearly he has not moved on and shouldnt have remarried.

Most of you saying the house belongs to the man don't have sense.

The house now belongs to both of them and not the man alone anymore. And anything to make the wife feel at home should be done. Why still keeping a picture of a dead wife instead of removing it and keep it safe? The woman is now the new sheriff in town , and has every right to determine how the house should look. The man shouldn't have married yet since he wants to continue mourning his wife. This is a case of a man who has finished eating his cake but still wants to have it

The woman is funny.

When you marry a man who has been married before,you should know that the ex-wife is never completely out of his mind,even if she was a "bad" woman.

He need to remove it ooo!d spirit of the late wife still hover around oo!women are jealous even in death...I have witness a man late wife spirit killed him because he took her expensive hollandaise & George give to his gal friend.

He must remove it. Why marrying when he's not ready to let go of the memories of the dead, even if he has to keep such memories, not to spite the one alive cos himself no go gree marry woman wey dey romance her ex husband picture.

He should have married the pictures, instead of putting his baggages on the new wife. Death had put them apart. Let him move on, let him not distress the new poor wife.

Time heals everything broken.. more so.. if the new can fill in the gap and more.

Is pains.. real pain.

This is a personal experience.

My late dad's sister passed away in the late 80's and subsequently her husband decided to remarry. He didn't have a child with my aunt (cos she suffered numerous miscarriages) and my dad did not have any problems with him remarrying because he brought the lady to meet my dad for his blessings. However a few months after the marriage, he and his new wife came to visit my dad one evening. He came to tell my dad that his wife was having issues with my late aunt's belongings (pictures, personal items and equipments she used for her business) still been kept in his house so he wanted to hand over her belongings to my dad so that the new wife could be comfortable.

My dad listened to both of them and did not argue with them. He just asked where the items were and was told that they had packed them and brought them along with them. He got up, left the sitting room and went to the kitchen where he got hold of a knife and pestle and proceeded outside the compound where he first deflated the tires of the car the couple came in and smashed the windscreen. He then told the couple that they were free to leave cos the car also belonged to my late aunt which was his wedding gift to her and if they were not comfortable with her belongings been kept in the house, they couldn't also be comfortable using her car.

The couple and infact no one was expecting that and they left in shame. To the best of my knowledge, the man did not have any child with the 2nd wife or any other woman.

Since my mum died,her enlargement has been hanged on the wall in the parlour even after my dad remarried . The thought of it never crossed our
Minds to pull it down.we were grown up then thou.. I don't know if our step mum has complained to our dad to remove it but that he never did. It's a sensitive issue and these should have been sorted out even before the agree to marry. During courtship , , couples need to agree on sensitive issues before marriage...
