The main issue here is being able to investigate any land before you even pay. I am sure someone at Alausa has the right information. Most times, people just ignore warning signs. Or they go ahead even when it’s obvious, just because others are buying.

I was in the surveyor general’s office to track the status of an application for governor’s consent last week. You need to see the way the guys there were making things difficult for us as if we were there to beg them.

Anything that would require you to meet with a typical Naija civil servant is bound to be difficult!

Last week, I was served a notice by a team led by one of the newly sworn-in commissioner and other top civil servants. They left a phone number that’s not going on the notice. No email address! No detailed contact information!

Am I supposed to be going to the commissioners office anytime I have any concern or need to clarify anything I’m unclear about.

These are the things we could do online but they will never allow such happen.


The same apply to land transactions. By now, Lagos should have a repository where land buyers/owners can pay to obtain information about any land in Lagos without having to talk to one Barrister/TPL/or a muyiwa working in the commissioners office.

But then, we are first Nigerian!

I want to carry out Non-Destructive Test on one of my project. It’s going to cost me N500,000 (officially).

The civil servants are asking me to give them PR to help me fasttrack the test so that I can have my result in few weeks or do the right thing and wait forever for the result.

Can you see that the problem is systemic but we keep blaming the people?

I’m being compelled to cough out N30 - N50k to get my job on time or wait forever by choosing to do things right!


This wouldn’t happen where the system works!

The sad news is that u might hv to break the wall to find the leak unless u can get a tool called "moisture meter" which is very unlikely our Artisans in this part of the world have such a device. That's the down side of conduit piping.

What type of pipe did you use for your water supply line?

Which area are you experiencing the leakage? Walls or Decking?

Not using pressure pump.... Used the pipe they call 9ja pipe and why I feel there's a leakage is because the boys in the site pumped water on Tuesday and they called today to say there's no water again. Total of 5000L finished within 3 days.
