To you, his usage of 'guy' here means bro? Are you for real?
You really think my post warrant that response? And you are a lawyer? right?lol! If you don't see anything bad here, I also do not see anything bad with my response since to you "Guy' means Bro. So why take offense based on popular lingo. Rest abeg!

Good for you and for everyone involved Baba.

Hopefully, we do not have any more misunderstandings arising from the usage of popular lingo.

It is not "To me" it is to anyone who has been on this thread and is familiar with SuperNerd.

Guy means Bro, Bros and it's variants.

My own term I would have used is "Nigga" or "Negro" and I am very sure you would have found it offensive too, because these are terms someone of your age will find disrespectful.

Now, it is okay to find it offensive because there is such a thing as generational gap in use of language, however, that you find it offensive does not mean that was the intent, and an elderly person like you, should have applied wisdom and sought clarification, rather than resorting to a response as uncouth as, "Na your papa be guy!"

I take it that you're significantly older than SuperNerd, and it is unbecoming of a senior man of your status to have engaged someone so young in that manner. It really did not speak well of your attained age.

Things escalated off of a small misunderstanding that could easily have been clarified

I see say Kog45 tag me to solve kwanta, I said let me track the genesis of the fight, only for me to discover that all these things is because they used "Guy" to address you, and you took offense.

Baba, "Guy" is like "Bro", nobody has their date of birth on this platform, so, nobody can tell that they should not be calling you "Guy". We are all peers in this platform, and we address each other with that in mind.

There was nothing disrespectful about "Guy", this response of yours is however very disrespectful, and I can tell you said it in anger (Use of exclamation points in writing is to relay anger).

You decided to deflect when SuperNerd rightly responded to you in the tone you introduced. You had no right to bring up his father, and someone of the age you project yourself to be, should not be throwing such cheap jabs, especially because NOBODY DISRESPECTED YOU OR WAS CONDESCENDING TOWARDS YOU TO BEGIN WITH.

And yes, Emmy was right to infer that you're trying to employ your age in intimidation of forum mates. You are a "Guy" for the purpose of this forum.

If you want to be properly addressed Baba, please, go to whichever group chats you belong to, where everyone knows your age, so, nobody will call you, "Guy".

Oga Kog45, I hope I have judged this as it should have been judged. The only person that was disrespectful in the course of that interaction was this Baba here.

Apologies for how long it took me to wade into the matter. Nobody should feel the need to post a rebuttal btw.

Thank you Lana. Kog45, Icon4s, Enomakos, Tbaba1234, Goldfish80, etc have never had this issue and are clearly elders but someone who hasn't been 2 yrs on this thread walks in and blatantly demands "respect" like it's some badge of honor while not respecting his own age and clearly not respecting others when he engages in discussions. That must be some messed up Mentality indeed.

He doesn't even know that for being a newbie on this thread, he ought to also consider respect to the "old guards" of this thread. Monikers who have brought this thread and previous ones this far. We don't demand it but since we talking "respect" then he should have considered that. He didn't and always sounded uncouth from Day 1. Really messed up.

We move.

@BubakarBarde that was tagged by Bashir has responded after noting the tweet.

Context: He is Special assistant to the NFF President.

He subtly stood up for Boniface but Bashir is still crying for blood somewhat.

I'm dumbfounded as I read the long epistle over a common joke.

Now he want the NFF to take the matter very serious, that is possibly punish Boniface over a harmless post.

May God deliver us from the hands of these unserious men in governments.

I'm no fan of Bashir. I think he's an ethnic bigot and looks for controversy where non exist. This however was bound to happen. Immediately I saw the post this morning I knew it could be perceived as insensitive by our northern brothers and I wasn't wrong. The aboki stereotype is something those of northern heritage do not take kindly to being called by Southerners, especially when used derogatorily. Of course I know Boniface was just being jovial, but I see how it can be perceived differently. It sadly gives room to people like Bashir to pounce,l. I'm.glad he took it down.

I remember the same Bashir came hard on Davido believing Davido used a background that looked like mosque in one of his videos

When Sadiq Umar’s little daughter was not on hijab he came hard on him,so not surprised seeing him knocking Boniface post.

Bony was wrong and good that he took it down, meaning apologies but really surprised that someone like Bashir served in Buhari administration.

Truth is, while there may be a few reservations most yorubas will understand the context and will laugh about it. Yorubas are liberal at heart, it's why the extremities that exist in some part of the country won't find root in the west.

So it's about whether he is actually a govt official now and not about his stupidity right? 8 yrs under Buhari's administration as his Communications assistant and you want to stress that he still isn't tied to the Government in some capacity?

Focus on the stupidity. Thanks.

Reliving the Osimhen-Haaland debate

So over a year down the line since the argument was made, this thread finally agrees with me when I said Osimhen is a much better well rounded CF than Erling Haaland right?

Or is there any (apart from Papa Haaland, Elyte89) who still objects? 😂

It's quiet shocking! Why can't we like both players? As much as I like Bassey, I have more confidence whenever Omeruo plays in defense. The same Omeruo pocketed Drogba and led us to our third AFCON.
I was quite shocked to read such bad presser for Omeruo. So wildly off the mark and uncalled for.
He's even a regular for Kassimpasa in Turkey it's not like he's a finished player like Musa.

As controversial as it sounds, it will be near impossible to leave Musa out of the team. He fulfills the Northern quota.
