that complete football magazine debutted around the early 2000s

Not true.

Complete football started in 1985.

Surely Akor Adams is making a good case for a national team call up right? especially with Awoniyi and Osimhen out of WCQ

Awoniyi is fit now...he was in action today against Liverpool.

I agree Adams deserves a call up... He should take Osimhen place in the next list...

everyone on that list has already been invited. The invite is sent 3 weeks before the match. Our next match is on the 16th. Not enough time again unless he is already on the list.

Igoh Ogbu, 23yrs CB, kept a Cleansheet for Slavia Prague in their 2-0 away win vs Bohemians in the Czech Liga. The win sees them move to top spot in the league after Victor Olatunji's Sparta Prague fell 3-1 to Mlada Boleslav.

Olatunji, 24 yrs, FW played 26mins+ off the bench.

Tolu Arokodare, 22yrs CF, scored his 3rd league Goal of the 23/24 Pro league season as his side Genk won 3-0 away at KV Kortrijk.

Yira Collins Sor, 23yrs WF, played 2 mins + 7 mins added time off the bench.

Spanish-Nigerian, Mujaid Sadick, 23 yrs CB, kept his 5th cleansheet for Genk as he played all 90mins+ at the heart of the backline.

Alhassan and Onyedika really impressed me and gave a promising glimpse into what a Eagles midfied will look like with the present generations behind Iwobi and Ndidi- Onyedika, Onyeka, and Alhassan form the core of a new midfied generation; all 3 are still in the early 20's as well.

Updated info: Taiwo Awoniyi returns and is the strongest contender to seal that final CF Proper slot but will have to hold off Terem Moffi as well.

Ndidi, Chukwueze and Osimhen are all temporarily injured and will all likely miss the November WCQs giving room for the likes of Nathan Tella, Moffi, Alhassan or any other new name a chance to push for final squad places. Time will tell.

SE 23-man squad: Secured Positions so far in the Super Eagles ahead of Afcon 23, Nothing Changes.

GKs - Francis Uzoho (1st choice) - expect to see him start in the WCQs in November

CBs - Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Kenneth Omeruo

LBs - Bruno Onyemaechi

RBs - Bright Osayi-Samuel, Ola Aina

CDMs - Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika

CMs - Frank Onyeka, Joe Aribo*

CAMs - Alex Iwobi

LWs - Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman

RWs - Samuel Chukwueze

CFs/STs/SS - Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Kelechi Iheanacho (an SS but likely to be listed as MF).

That's 18 names. Others (5 slots) still up for grabs as squad members and in one or two roles as the team jokers.

Jordan Torunarigha? And if Tella grabs his chance and performs well in the WCQ, don't bet on Chukwueze not sweating it out for a final place in the squad against Tella.

Chuks will make the squad bro. The only thing that will stop him is injury. At worst, he may get benched at the tourney.

I think a fit Musa, Ekong, Zaidu, Okoye and a third goalkeeper will make the team complete base on experience and pattern of selection over the years. I doubt Bruno Onyemaechi will ever make it ahead of a fit Zaidu for the left back position.

CBs should be 4 in a 23 man list. So yeah Jordan Torunarigha competes for a spot with Awaziem and co aside the assured.

Tella definitely has a chance. All depends on the November games. Chuks needs competition and we can't head to the Afcon with only Chuks as our RW.

Danielnino00:
Good morning gentlemen and ladies.
The year is almost at an end, that means the annual Nairaland Football Fans Award is coming up. Last year, we couldn't organize the award because a significant number of people voted against it, largely due to the anger that emanate from the super eagles failure to qualify for the world cup. But I believe it's been a good year for our football this time.
I had sought, and gotten the permission of the pioneer of this award, icon4s to organize it again for a second time. Howeve, I'm seeking the full approval of this thread before proceeding, because ultimately, you're all the biggest contributors to Nigerian football discussions on Nairaland.

Therefore,if you are in support of the award taking place again this year, and me organizing it, please click like, if no, click share. Voting ends on Tuesday evening, 8pm Nigerian time.

Thank you
smiley

He and Ugbade should be left at that level. Discovering talents is their thing but also, since they have worked before, they should also be able to compliment each other in the art of raising winning teams consistently as they have won together before.
