mostob: Is Chukwueze better than Tella , with end product and more effective in creating scoring chances ❓ Let them compete and the best players be selected on merit alone. |

Zaidu is still sidelined and hasn't played football since September 19. That's quite a long time and we don't know if he will make the November list. So as things stand Bruno is a sure bet. And Bassey isn't going to the Afcon as a LB but as a CB main with LB as his alternative role. zoboizee: 1 Like |

elyte89: Ahmed Musa has expired where the SE is concerned, his time has past. Not because of age but he is no longer putting in top quality performances. He is now in the retirement league and anonymous essentially. 3 Likes 1 Share |

elyte89: You are spot on. With a 23-man list, the attack will command no more than 7 players with 4 being wingers and 3 being CFs. If JPes goes with 8 in attack then it means the midfield dept will have only 5 players and defence will have 7 lads alongside 3 GKs. So we know Simon, Chukwueze and Lookman are 3 of the wingers 100% bound for CIV barring injuries in January. Tella and Musa will simply be out for the last Wing/WF slot. It gets interesting indeed now that we are back to a 23 man list and not 28 like last covid edition. 1 Like 1 Share

TheSuperNerd:Sir, it's Chukwueze and Tella that will compete. 70% fit Musa is Afcon bound. Its not just about talents, but national team politics. |

I see your point. And if this angle holds stronger than the actual merit angle I am coming from then it is settled. Chuks and a fit Musa will be at the Afcon even though Tella will make the November list. zoboizee: |

Why are people still mentioning Musa here? when last did any of you even watch Musa play football this season or last? he hasn't even been listed on the bench in all the games Sivasspor (his club) have played in the last 10 or so games! for all we know he could be seriously injured or frozen out of his club. Abeg let's respect ourselves here and dead the Musa agenda, let the man enjoy his retirement anonymously. On to serious matters, I don't see how Nathan Tella doesn't make the final AFCON squad if he performs well in this November games, the ball is in his court now to take his chances. 2 Likes 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: Bros, Not sure if you've noticed but Musa hasn't been listed on his clubs bench in almost half the season played already, doesn't that tell you all you need to know already? Baba Musa has either anonymously left his club, is injured and at his worst level of fitness, or has retired from football anonymously- whatever is the case, he's not making the AFCON squad politics or no politics if he's NOT playing active football or registered with a club. |

Tobichimezie:. Sir, if you looked at the analysis of the senior analysts you will discover that is not about Musa playing time at club level but of national quota system, the system that has been killing our national development. |

Tobichimezie: Whenever squad list is released on some of super eagles pages on Facebook. I see some of my northern brothers lament calling the super eagles southern nigeria team... to them as long as the player is a core northerner even if he is injured let him be called up. They see super eagles squad list as a political appointments that follows the federal character principle. Some even go wish evil for the team This shows why Umar and Musa gets invited even when not in form to please some of this peeps provision is made for this guys. Because if lot of persons could be saying this on super eagles pages on Facebook only God knows how many petitions and calls that might have been made to the NFF president. It is worrisome seeing those comments Nigeria is a very high tribalistic society...... same reason why any biased coach ridden with sentiments in the cadet level barely excel. So for Musa or Umar despite been unfit even with the former not playing for weeks he will fetch an invitee. Meritocracy will be sacrificed for mediocrity. 1 Like |

Icon4s: I've not seen where a player is a timid anonymous mouse 🐁 in club and league and then all of a sudden comes into the national team and becomes a lion ♌. It doesn't work like that. If a quality player is not performing in the national team, you have to first look at the management. It's like having Lukaku and if he doesn't score you say he is bad. When Lukaku was having issues the Tuchel in Chelsea he was still banging goals for Belgium. |
