Good governance is not by building humongous projects.

Mr Gov do the little things that have the greatest impacts on the lives of lagosians first.

The inner roads are terrible. 80% of streets roads in lagos are in terrible conditions. If we cant drive out of our houses of what use is this 4th mainland bridge or the blue line or red line?

I know some hediots will come and talk rubbish under my comment but that's your headache.

Fix the goddamned state roads first. Fix the streets

Lagos signs $1.35 billion deal for Fourth Mainland Bridge, other key projects

https://nairametrics.com/2023/10/31/breaking-lagos-signs-1-35-billion-deal-for-fourth-mainland-bridge-other-key-projects/

Ben nwanbueze led the team that wrote the unitary constitution that merged all the federated regions into one under Aguiyi ironsi, because he and his i.pob fellows believed they will be in charge of Nigeria forever.

They put us in the situation we are today and then turn around shouting blue murder angry

The i.pob headed all the military positions at the time, even political positions, yet they were not satisfied. They wanted more. They wanted to rule forever.

So they staged the first coup, killed all the leaders of other regions, Sultan of Sokoto - Ahmadu Bello, even shot his pregnant wife to death, they killed the Prime Minister, they killed Akintola, ADEKUNLE Fajuyi, they killed major nothern and southwest military leaders...

But coincidentally, no i.pob leaders were killed....Ojukwu, Aguiyi ironsi, etc.

And coincidentally too, Nnamdi Azikiwe was not available to be killed....

Coincidentally too, eastern region premier was not killed....

Coincidentally too, the senate president, an i.pob, was not available to be killed.

And then, Aguiyi ironsi was gifted power just like that sad

And then Ben Nwanbueze, led the team that wrote the constitution that merged all the federated regions within days of Aguiyi ironsi taking over....and you say this was not premeditated?

I hear the Ben guy took rat poison sad

There will more influx of people. Lagos is due for 4th mainland and also independent power. The pressure and traffic will reduce on 3rd mainland. People in Ikorodu axis will not need to come through Ketu to 3rd or to western Ave. It will also open up Ikorodu. Ikorodu is opposite of Lekki (across the water).

I’m not saying it shouldn’t be built but it’s not urgent.

If they have money to do both, I still would prioritise power, waste management, drainage, security, etc over the bridge.

The bridge would probably benefit a section of Lagosians. Uninterrupted power will benefit all Lagosians. You also get enormous tax revenues from electricity bills you can subsequently use to build future bridges. No need to even borrow to have them built.

The blue line train is more or less an Igbos Train.
Despite their hatred for the govt they still benefited most from this infrastructure than any other tribes due to their large population in that corridor.

So all the humongous loans that were collected for the Blue Rail Line could only build it halfway? So they still need another loan to complete the other half? Na wa o for the government and the gullible citizens.

Truly "the future of Lagos is brighter than ever.’’

We will give all the support the government needs to ensure that this project succeeds phenomenally. We just can not afford to rest on our oars. The black race looks up to us.

Please invest in Lagos and the neighbouring Yoruba South West Nigeria states for great returns on investment and the best investor friendly experience in Africa.

Southwest Nigeria is the safest, has an abundance of fertile arable land , preserved forests with wildlife like giant African Elephants etc , pristine waterfalls, springs and coast lines/exotic beaches, great climate, friendly host communities, huge pool of rich, brilliant, talented , highly educated ,hardworking people , huge natural mineral deposits and material resources, oil and gas, modern trains/infrastructures, high tech industries, super fast 5G from multinational telcos, multiple advanced undersea fibre optic cables, satellite internet services that connect the SW Nigeria Yoruba states , prestigious universities and research centres, world class music, film entertainment and art industry, homogeneous language/culture, great tasty indigenous foods and all you want as an investor.

Please bring your investments to South West Nigeria just like African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and Access Bank just did with this investment of $1.352 billion in our Lagos 4th mainland Bridge long-term infrastructure projects in Lagos state.

Statesman and highly respected Nwabueze passed on this week. A great loss to the legal profession in Nigeria. Baba was Ironsi's lawyer who changed our regional constitution to unitary law in 1966 and took all authorities to the centre. We are still battling with it till today. It was a great disservice to humanity.

In honouring this luminary, I urge our national assembly and state assemblies to look into the issue of true federalism as it was Pre-1966 before Nwabueze's unitary constitution and restore the country to factory settings. This will be a great honour and deserving tribute to this hero of our time who passed on Monday.

Continue to rest in peace Baba, we loved you so much.

Thank you bro,for this analysis!
Questions still remains unanswered are:
1.When would this Project starts and when will it be Completed?
2. Who are the Winners- the Construction -Companies of these gigantic Projects and what are there Past Clientele- how many of such Projects have they handled,as in the Oceans based like this- the People should know- afterall is not a Secret Projects?
3.What are the Estimated -Total Costs of the Project to the Masses?
4. How will it be Funded ( Revenue aspects) is very essential,as no one will like to see an abandoned Project on this matter.
5 The Great People of Lagos State would like to be Constantly briefed on this Projects - as per the Progress Reports,at least every 6- Months.
6.Finally,is the Pictures above the one Prototype of the 4th- Mainland Bridge?

Good

My worry is whether Lagos motorists will be willing to pay a toll. This I very much doubt.

Tolling and traffic snarls can not be divorced. It is about time an advanced system is introduced whereby cars are electronically tolled the second they pass the toll gates either using number plates or something else.

In Singapore and London, vehicles are immediately tolled if they enter certain parts of the cities at some hours of the day. The same should be introduced here

Lekki toll gate politicians will soon arrive to wail at your domot.

Thought they already had an accepted company's proposal for the 4th Mainland Bridge under BOOT PPP and that the blue line rail phase two would be built with revenue from phase one of it
IF the banks are just financial partners, it's understandable for the blue line but outsourcing for funding for the 4th MB should be the headache of the investors, not LASG

Thank goodness you know who tore up the REGIONAL constitution for UNITARY one under FEDERAL SYSTEM. And I'm sure you know the tribe they all belong to. Quite fine, if, they're deemed our HEROES but nobody should wail to others over the COMMITMENT the people percieved as heroes made. They should rather enjoy it.

AND make no mistake, no body will bend to your wish /bully to reverse their mistake.

That's a lot of money. Lagos is in a class of its own, if the state wasn't solvent, the banks wouldn't agree to fund the project, reason I maintained that debt is not bad if its utilised properly.

People that spoke against IGR, can states with low IGR dare to embark on a project of this magnitude? You deliberately turn facts on it's head when reality is not in your favour, jokers!

Do you think they are funding it for free, pretty sure they own a certain percentage of the revenue from the projects.

It's simply business for them...

Finally... That'll be a great relief to 3rd Mainland bridge.

How exactly does it provide relief to 3rd mainland bridge??

The majority of traffic from 3rd Mainland is folks from the Gbagada, Anthony, Ikeja, Ogudu, Ketu, Ojota, Ilupeju, Oshodi, Ogba axis. And to a lesser extent from Yaba axis, who are going to work on the island everyday.

Even if you are coming from Ikorodu and work on the island, 3rd mainland still makes the most sense.

How does this 4th mainland help them to achieve that, given its location on the map, relative to 3rd mainland?

I agree with you! For me 4th mainland isn't a priority. The extension of the blue line to Okokomaiko, completion of the Red line and execution of the green line to connect Lekki corridor to Marina are more people oriented and impact many more people for the long term. If at all any road should be done, it should be completion of the regional road (which seems to have been abandoned).

And if the LASG even put in effort to improve the traffic flow by keeping roads well motorized, getting Danfo away from junctions which constricts traffic flow, and implementing smart traffic lights that change sequence based on the flow of traffic, the traffic in Lagos would improve dramatically. We are too lazy to do the simple things, but we are quick to do multi billion dollar projects!! We all know why though?
