Holiness is essential to keep Experiencing God.

This morning I was thinking how I wasted about three hours of my life, reading up/watching a recent political tussle, even on my bed as I lay to sleep. Thus sleeping late, which prevented me from waking in-between.

This morning, I reasoned that I spent three hours of my life on something that won't contribute to my purpose. On something that I have no influence over.

I felt bad. Infact so bad that I told God that gave me life:

"I'm sorry for wasting three hours of my life."

I felt better.

And I experientially realized that time utilization is an important element of holiness.

How have you Experienced God.

Anjinsan:

This morning, during my spiritual exercises, I entered the heavens even deeper.

One thing that I knew contributed to this, was yesterday's fasting, coupled with spiritual exercises.

Fasting is an exercise I started first on health ground. As my thread on Health Without Drugs...(Health session) reveals.

There is tremendous power (mental and spiritual, even physical) that comes with a light body. It's no wonder some in silicon valley engage in it regularly.

I posit that the ultimate benefit of combining fasting with spiritual exercises doesn't come during the process. It comes after.

During today's session of praises, after yesterday's fast and prayers, ah! The bliss is unspeakable.

Hi, can you shed more light in your "spiritual exercises " please?

I have not seen a Christian using those terms before. Thanks

Hello,

Examples (Meditations, Praises, etc) can be seen in my posts. You can also google it's meaning. The first link you will see is that connected to Christianity.

When a Christian who strives to live morally, view and consciously refrains from idleness, aimlessness, same way he views and refrains from fornication, stealing, murder, what will his life look like in one year, two years, three years?

John 10:10 says the thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy...it's often said in most quarters that the greatest asset we have is time.

Am I putting up a hard fight to protect my time? Or am I so distracted by this or by that, such that in light of John 10:10, the devil is indeed stealing my time, there by destroying my goals and purpose?

To the degree I am lax about using my time towards my goals, purpose, to the degree I have given the devil the avenue to steal my time.

Yesterday, I spent the hours in-between tasks on meditation. And even at work, I did my best to do each minute task with reverential conscientiousness.

Hence even at work and in between, to a large degree, I kept Experiencing God. Wish someone had taught me these little things in the past...

How have you Experienced God.

Hi, meant why is the term ("Spiritual Exercise" ) be linked to Christianity.

I ask because we use same term in my spiritual school Eckankar.

The difference is we call them "the spiritual exercises of Eck".

‭‭John‬ ‭8:7‬
- When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

It's easy to analyse, and write off others because of their misdeeds. Yet who is without sin? Am I perfect? May this help me not to spend my precious time condemning others for their misdeeds, especially when I have no authority over them. In so doing my own mouth won't lead me to sin.

‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:25‭-‬26‬

[25] About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. [26] Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.

Focused Prayer and Praises are a powerful spiritual combo. It changes seemingly hopeless situations from the root upwards. It looses seemingly permanent chains.

The term isn't exclusive to Christianity.

Other pages in Google links it to non- Christians.

It's a generic english, spiritual term same way with prayer, meditation, etc.

The difference is the approach of a group or individual.

Holiness protects a spiritual man in ways we can't even see.

Away with lust, away with indolence, away with dishonesty, away with resentment, away with violence, away...the further these vices are, the more I Experience God

If I must eliminate these totally from my life, I have to study them closely. Observe what triggers each of them, then take calculated steps not to succumb.

Let me start with that which is most common - Lust.

Have you noticed that the occasions you easily succumb to lust (porn, masturbation, fornication, lustful looking/thoughts) are those moments you are anxious?

I posit, that if spiritual/religious counsellors can also address anxiety when counselling someone who is struggling with sexual impurities, they will be better results.

When an individual have passed that initial age of realizing the pleasure he can derive from his external reproductive organs...

He resorts to such form of pleasure as a result of boredom, worry, etc. He simply is looking for a distraction out of unpleasant feelings. Same way an Alcoholic looks for an escape in bottles.

Tear apart any vice you are struggling with and you will see what actually triggers them in you.

For one, when I do that it enables me to have more occasions to keep Experiencing God.

Like the good book says, without holiness, no eyes can see God.

Holiness is key to keep Experiencing God

I posit that what we use - world events, scriptures, history, science etc - to explain God's existence or otherwise, is just theoretical.

One's belief or unbelief lies in his interpretation of events, especially on a personal level. This is experiential.

The deeper, one's experiential convictions, the tighter he holds on to his stance. And the less disturbed he feels if you have an opposing point of view.

Those who banter over words, debate a lot, even insult to either prove their atheist, agnostic, or theist stance do so primarily for themselves.

They are doing so, to convince themselves about where they currently stand on such matters. They aren't doing it to win you over, no, it is to keep themselves glued to where they belong.

It doesn't matter which part of the fence you are during such debates, what matters more is how you project yourself.

You have more reason to project yourself mannerly, respectfully, if you are Pro-God.

In doing so, the Anti-God proponent may at least Experience God through your demeanor.

John 8:31,32. ‭
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

The gospels contain the literal words of my leader Jesus. Obedience to these words reveals truth, such truth sets me free.

Rom. 2: 28,29. ‭
A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.

One of the goals of most religious groups is character improvement. Therefore of more importance than my religious affiliation, is what I am becoming in my heart, in my inner-man. And my validation isn't from men. Men who can't keep their own standards. It is from God.

God, he is my best friend, my closest companion.

The more, I go to him, first with a challenge, with a major decision, the more he satisfies, providing effective insights.

I woke up late this morning (needed the rest), and was at a cross road in two important events.

I sought his face, and the best route to take became as clear as day light.

God, like somebody rightly said is the source of everything.

And at the source is pure consciousness...

relationship with God simply means recognizing that you are a pure consciousness dwelling within a body..

you recognize the limitation of what being in a body means or entails

but you over come them all the same....

this is what is referred to as 'being woke'

The war is truly within...

Have you considered this:

That the moment we say we "go to meet God" in that sense, we are invariably separating ourselves with God practically? In other words, we are buttressing the illusion of us and God being separate entities?

Have you consider the possibilities if we speak and act as God instead...?

How about if we 'Become' the solution we think we don't have instead? As in "at-one-ment" with our desires, be they earthly or spiritual instead of chasing these solutions away because we 'believe' we don't have them by our very act of asking and searching without very 'selves' (Soul).

People who don't even believe in God are already living this reality of physics, God, Nature or whatever you want to call it.
Re: Experiencing God by Anjinsan: 8:00am On Nov 18, 2023
The bible says we were made in God's image and likeness, a place in the psalms says: "Yeah are gods" Apostle Paul said become imitators of Christ as Christ is of God...And several other scriptures that attest that a human has the God potential.

Some have achieved great material things, due to this potential. It doesn't matter whether they acknowledged God or not. They tapped into universal principles to unleash their greatness. Universal principles don't care about one's theology or lack of it.

Even at that in the consciousness of such people they are distinct from their thoughts. They aren't their thoughts. Thoughts are the objects, they are the subjects. They are more like observers of their thought world which is their first catalyst for such achievements.

Even in the art of searching inwards, watching my thoughts for solutions or that intuitive glimpse shines through. For the fact that I observed these, there is already a separation, I am not these. I am still the consciousness, the observer, the noticer.

I also apply such established psychological reasoning in regards to God. Even if I choose to act like God, think like God, deep down I know I am not God the source. I am connected to the source...yet that doesn't make me the source.

Among other things these keeps me humble, and open to that flow.

John 8:50, 54. ‭‭"I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.
Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me."

Consistently, I will strive to honour my heavenly Father with each thought, word and act.

1 Cor. 6: 18 - 20. ‭‭"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

He is called HOLY Spirit for a reason. As I incrementally remain sexually pure, it's easier to keep in touch with the HOLY Spirit who dwells in me to guide my every thought, word and act.

Ah! Ah! Was wondering if this month will end without my exclusive F/P (Fasting and Prayer).

So yesterday, as I got out of bed by 4:30am, I decided to forgo my usual Sunday hustle (May discontinue it...).

I sat on my prayer chair, in the usual spot in my room, set my alarm for four hours, then started praying in tongues, as I engaged my mind with a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

After the alarm went off, reset it again for three hours, continued in tongues and engaged my mind with a process to something I choose to manifest.

After the alarm went off, reset it again for two hours, changed position to another chair in my room, which faced the heavens, then picked up a hymn book (that of my previous religious group), focused on the songs that praised God and those on Character, and sang my soul out.

After the alarm went off, went back to my initial position, and for one hour repeated session two.

After that, I picked up the complete volume of books by one of my favourite spiritual/moral authors, and completed one of his books.

I looked at the time time it was 4:30pm...sat for sometime, planned my week. Hit the bathroom. Took a walk, got some fruits, ended the fast by eating the fruits.

I felt glad to have crushed one of my key spiritual exercises, at least once a month exclusive F/P for a day.

Nothing comes easy. First begin with discipline, then it automates itself into habits...

Some years ago, I was among some persons who were arguing about religious leaders and their followers.

One group said, the followers were ripped off by their leaders. The other said, no...it's what they do willingly, and happily, the benefits they derive is more than the sacrifices they make.

My thoughts were (which I expressed briefly before leaving) the religious leaders must be doing something that have gained them so loyal followers.

Some of these religious leaders across different religions and sub-religions, aren't into vices. And these also have loyal followers.

Rather they have paid some price in building 'whatsoever' (Power, Charisma, Persuasion, Character) these loyal followers see in them.

It takes discipline to churn out that 'whatsover,' on a regular basis which still retains the loyalty of these followers.

Rather than criticizing, I would rather admire their discipline that enabled them manifest this 'whatsover'.

And would encourage the loyal followers to make it their aim to master the processes that led to these 'whatsover.'

For those who do, they would be amazed at the benefits, and may need less and less of a human spiritual compass.

Some years ago my spouse showed me a video clip on the power of praises.

Part of the video, showed the praises of an individual ascending like sweet incense before God. At a point God asked an Angel, what does that guy want. The Angel replied, he hasn't made a request yet. God asked, what can we do for him...the Angel gave an answer, and that need was filled.

Praises, are powerful. Psychology talks about the benefits of Gratitude, etc.

In Praises, a spiritual person expresses gratitude, a spiritual person is thankful to the ultimate source.

In so, doing on an emotional level, he is aligning his whole soul for wellness. He is opening his spirit to to the infinite.

The above story gives a glimpse of what happens in the spiritual realm.

Praises is a pillar of my spiritual exercises. Regularly, each day, part of my spiritual exercise includes 15mins to Three hours of praises. Depends on my program for that day.

There is a system, I follow which ensures I don't start thinking the song to use, or make a song more dominant than others.

I will talk about that system in the next post.

In 2019, I started to program my daily praises to God.

I got a sheet, categorized all the songs I know off-hand into three:

1) Hymes/longer praise song.

2) Short English songs of praise.

2) My dialect song of praises.

So each morning, during my private praises, I start with a hymn, next a short common praise song in English, then my dialect song of praise, finally I round up with another hymn of longer praise song.

Usually, I sing the opening and ending, twice or thrice...the English short and dialect - 10 times.

During the process, I do my best to focus either on God or the lyrics. Often my mind strays, always I bring it back.

Usually this spiritual exercise takes me about 30mins. With this process, the hymns are used once a week, while the others once a month.

Often I have had to memorize new hymns...the target is to memorize more before the end of 2024, so the hymns can be once in two weeks.

Aside from this, I enjoy praises. When I am in the kitchen, I praise washing, I praise.

Ah! Praising, thanksgiving, gratitude, has kept me stable during seeming dark moments. It makes it easy for me be a recipient of what I choose to manifest.

John 10:10: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
‭‭
My Master - Jesus Christ, gifts me abundant life - Spiritual, Financial, Health. May I stretch to receive and manifest this abundant life - Spiritual, Financial, Health. This I do by consistently aligning my thoughts, words, and acts to abundance.

2 Cor. 4: 18. ‭‭"While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."

I am propelled by eternal realities: God and Eternal life. Eternal life with its ephemeral, exciting unending journey.

What's your motive for coming to God:

Money? Protection?

These things in themselves aren't bad. Yet they won't sustain one spiritually. They don't deepen spirituality.

There are other avenues, even healthy ones that can provide these things. You don't necessarily need God for these.

On your own, without acknowledging or publicly confessing God, you can be wealthy. Look around, especially globally, to confirm this.

The best motive for coming to God is to Experience God. Experience him, his guidance, his fellowship in every part of your life: Career/Business, Marriage, Health, Values etc.

Consulting him, before making decisions, before acting, and even when acting remaining conscious of him.

It may seem unfamiliar and difficult at the beginning...yet the more you stretch, by taking your hands off the steering wheel of your life.

You stretch, by waiting on him, seeking clarity in silence, as he speaks to your inner man.

You stretch, by doing your best to strive after Righteousness. For this Holiness, is one key element which differentiates your process from that of the psychology that labels it as intuition.

The God knowing person labels it as God's voice.

At a point in your life, you realize you know enough about a subject, yet the results in your life shows you know little about that subject.

All you know is unorganized information on that subject..., knowledge. When the result manifest it no longer becomes unorganized information, it becomes organized data. Even more than that, it becomes wisdom.

If your head has read, listened, watched enough to overcome that temptation, to move higher in an area of life, to improve character, and yet the results isn't equivalent to the knowledge...it's high time to do away with the books, the videos, the sermons...it's high time to seek your unique path to overcome that temptation, to move higher in that area of life, to improve character, etc...

It's high time to set a routine of confessing (scriptural affirmations) what you want to see...

It's high time you set a routine of meditating on what you want to see...

Most importantly, it's high time to sit in silence and listen to God as he reveals to you the path you should walk, to manifest what you want...
